Bermuda Houses and Gardens (1973)
1 Bermuda Houses and Gardens (1973)
Bermuda The Garden Club of Bermuda 1973 Second edition Card Cover Good-plus
This is an oversized booklet measuring 9" x 12" with 81 clean, tightly bound pages. The only faults are some toning to a few areas of the white back cover and former owner's name and address in upper front corner of first page. The booklet is lavishly illustrated with black and white photographs of the interiors and exteriors of some of the island's most stunning residences at the time of writing, many of which were already 300 years old! Very handsomely presented on quality coated paper.

Glimpses of Bermuda; A Few Highways and Byways, Tucker, Ethel & Catherine F.
3 Tucker, Ethel & Catherine F. Glimpses of Bermuda; A Few Highways and Byways
Kent, England J. Salmon Art Publishers No date soft cover Good-plus
What a pretty booklet this is, a true labor of love. There's no date, but it's clearly vintage with its yapped edges and tipped-in art. There is no attempt here to offer a history of Bermuda. Rather, it shows glimpses of the reasons people are bewitched by the island's beauty. There's 12 lovely full page art works with commentary and an essay at the front. Areas pictured include: Cumberland Street, a Bermuda garden, Par-La-Ville Gardens, Long Bay Road, an ancient buttery, morning lights, palmetto vale, an Easter lily field, the Old Lane House, Paget Shore, the end of the harbor, oleanders, St. George's Pembroke Parish, Hamilton, Somerset and near the Devil's Hole. Booklet measures 6"x9" and is pristine inside with no names or writing. All faults are exterior including a few edge tears and a small loss of paper to spine ends, all of which have been repaired by me with non-browning archival tape.
