Fortune Magazine March, 1936 ( New York Night Life)
7 Fortune Magazine March, 1936 ( New York Night Life)
New York Time-Life 1936 Volume XIII Number 3 soft cover Very good
These old Fortune Magazines are a thing of beauty. This one has lots of gorgeous color ads for Lucky cigarettes, Lincoln cars, Kentucky Tavern Whiskey, Florida vacations and more. Articles are few, but lengthy, including U.S. Steel, plastics, the autogyro, Phillip Morris and the star of the show -- Manhattan night life. Many photos throughout in both color and black and white. The magazine is clean and tightly bound with crisp, clean paper. Only fault is a little spine roll which is common because people stacked them. Magazine measures 11-1/2"x14" and is quite heavy. Highlights of the Byrd Arctic Expedition
8 Highlights of the Byrd Arctic Expedition
New York Tide Water Oil Company 1930 Card cover good condition
Tightly bound and clean, but not perfect. It's mostly a used look that's the problem -- no tears or chips, no writing, no creasing etc.. there is some rusting to the staples, but I'll change them out for new. It still deserves a new home. The booklet has some really good photography, plus text, and a complete chronology and an introduction to the crew. It's very visual and is colored in sepia. It also measures 8-1/2" x 11" and has 32 counted planting the U.S. flag on Antarctica and then back home again.

Toledo, Ohio Inside Ohio Magazine 1953 Volume 2, Number 8 soft cover Good
Inside Ohio magazine was in its second year of publication when this issue was produced. It's not seen too much which is too bad because it has a lot to offer. There are color paintings, photographs and articles about many aspects of the state. Here, for example, the topcs include the iron men, tool builders, a history in old newspapers starting in the late 1700's, the Ohio auto industry sub-assembly line, Ohio's advanced electric power production, education, science, transportation, communication, and the beloved Wright Brothers and aviation. Magazine measures 8-1/2" x 11-1/2" and has 114 pages. Faults are confined to a crease to lower front corner and a small abrasion to back cover.

Navy Log. Naval Air Technical Training Center (WWII)
14 Navy Log. Naval Air Technical Training Center (WWII)
Memphis, Tennessee Naval Air Techncial Training Center Circa WWII Unknown Card cover Very good condition
The Navy Log was the yearbook of the Navy Air Technical Training Center in Tennessee. Oddly, the booklet reports that most of the students arrived in 1942, but it doesn't tell what year they were graduating. Sadly, I can't find out how long the educational process went on which would have been clue. The booklet has many photos of officers and group portraits of the various students. Each one was given a biography. If you are looking for a person you think might be here let me know and I'll be glad to look it up for you. Just use the contact button. Yearbook measures 8-1/2" x 11. Photographs Goodyear Blimp Day and Night; Booklet Goodyear Aerial Ambassadors
16 Photographs Goodyear Blimp Day and Night; Booklet Goodyear Aerial Ambassadors
Akron, Ohio Goodyear No date soft cover All items fine condition
I bought these items together some years ago and they just now surfaced in crisp clean condition. The photos taken at night were hard to photpgraph, but they are much nicer than they appear due to the glossy surface. They are all crisp and clean, including back, but there is no informatio on photographer. Each back is stamped with a number and there is a bit of residue from a strip of paper which may have been helpful. The photos measure 8-1/4" x 10-1/2". The booklet is wonderful -- very attractive in blue and silver throughout with much information in 20 pages. There is no date, but it's at least from the 80's which is when the blimp first lit up at night with incandescent messages. Booklet measures 4" x 8".

Columbus, Ohio Port Columbus 2004 75th Anniversary Card cover Fine cards in VG folder
I haven't been aware of this postcard set, but I knew a good thing when I found it! There are ten postcards printed with black and white photographs and a blue "frame" on each. The cards are a tad larger than usual, measuring 4-1/2" x 6". All are crisp and clean with no writing or postal stampings. Port Columbus opened on July 8, 1929 with Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone and Edsel Ford in the audience. The folders (there are two) are crisp and clean also, but there is a tiny tear to the right side of the main folder. I used a very tiny piece of archival tape on the reverse side and all is well. A very nice souvenir.

This was a privately bound full year run of The American Boy Magazine, all 12 issues for 1925. As you can see from the photographs, the original mailing labels are on the covers.
