Your Doctor And You; Brief Dramatic Stories of the March of Medicine Parke Davis Advertising
1 Your Doctor And You; Brief Dramatic Stories of the March of Medicine Parke Davis Advertising
Detroit, Michigan Parke Davis Soft Cover Very Good
An oversized bound collection of Parke Davis medical ads from the late 1920s. There is no date, but the title page says, "Recent advertisements in a series which has been appearing in national magazines since 1928." It measures 11-1/4"x14-3/4" and is very clean with no names or writing. The ads are pristine. The outer cover was designed with an overhang which, as usual, created small edge tears. Most are not a problem, but a few snaggy one were repaired on the reverse side by me with tiny pieces of archival tape. There are 15 ads in all, each with a message such as the danger of children playing with firecrackers, the hidden danger of diphtheria (two ads), mothers dying in childbirth etc.

2 Milas, Aristide J.; Uguccioni, Ellen J. Coral Gables Miami Riviera An Architectural Guide
Miami, Florida Dade Heritage Trust 2003 0962056510 / 9780962056512 First Edition stated Card cover Very good condition
This is a very interesting booklet perfect for carrying along as you walk the streets of Coral Gables with its beautiful homes . Coral Gables was called America's Most Beautiful Suburbs when it was created during the great land bloom in Florida of 1921-26. The guide has three sections: 1.) an essay comparing the the city today as per 19th and 20th urban planning 2.) illustration of the the patterns of development and grandiose planning; and six self-guided tours by sectors and landmarks, illustrated with 120 archival and contemporary photos and original advertisements. Booklet measures 4-1/2" x 8-1/2" with 103 pages printed on quality coated paper. Very clean with no names or writing. Faults are minor -- a few small spots of edge wear to bottom back lower edge of cover, a light spot to bottom edge from a price sticker and a line on the front cover made of little dots. It's a strange defect, one I never saw until I felt it.

The booklet measures 6" x 9" and haa 70 pages. A small book, but istory on its best.
