1 Cleveland National Air Show Program 1977 (Air Force Picture Laid-in)
Cleveland, Ohio Cleveland National Air Show 1977 soft cover
Crisp and clean inside and out. This is a very nice program with a surprise inside -- a color print that reads at the bottom "Air Force. A great way of life." 2 Game Face Cleveland Indian Scorebook Magazine Commemorative Issue 1993; Tribute to Cleveland Stadium Official Souvenir Print October 2, 1993 (Cleveland Indians Baseball)
Cleveland, Ohio Cleveland Indians Baseball 1993 soft cover Very good
These items came together so I am leaving them together, as both are mementos of the last Cleveland Indians baseball season to be held at the old Cleveland Stadium. The magazine measures 8-1/2"x11" and still retains its unused scorecards for the final series at Cleveland Stadium. It's a glossy magazine with lots of photos and Cleveland baseball history. Magazine is clean and bright with just one tear to lower front corner which was repaired on reverse side with tape by former owner. The print measures 8"x11" also and shows likenesses of Andre Thornton, Mel Harder, Bob Feller and Lou Boudreau. The text reads "Tribute to Cleveland Stadium October 2, 1993." Nice package!

John M. Ashbrook Late A Representative From Ohio: Memorial Addresses Delivered In Congress 1982
3 John M. Ashbrook Late A Representative From Ohio: Memorial Addresses Delivered In Congress 1982
Washington, D.C. U.S. Government Printing Office 1982 Presumed first Hard cover Fine condition
I have seen these memorials for a couple members of the House and Senate, but this is the most contemporary. Representative John M. Ashbrook R., was a strong conservative, so much so that the 1982 Alamanac of Amderican Politics called his far right beliefs "almost a catalog of lost causes." But Ashbrook was heartily memoralized by his colleagues. The Ohioans who spoke were Clarence J. Brown, Dennis E. Eckhart, Willis D. Gradison Jr.. Tony P. Hall, Thomas N. Kindness, Delbert L. Latta, Bob McEwen, Clarence E. Miller, Michael G. Oxley, Donald J. Pease, Ralph Regula, John F. Seiberling, Bob Shamansky, Louis Stokes, Ed Weber, Chalmers P. Wylie, The Honorable John Glenn, and Haward M. Metzenbaum. The book measures 6" x 9" and is bo,ud in a handsome black cloth. The book has 96 pristine pages and no names or writing anywhere. Rep. Ashbrook died at 53.

The Family Circle Magazine 7 Issues 1938
7 The Family Circle Magazine 7 Issues 1938
Newark, New Jersey The Family Circle Inc. 1938 soft cover Very Good
Seven issues of Family Circle magazine which was much thinner in the old days than now but also a weekly rather than a monthly. They're not consecutive, but all are from January, February and March, 1938. The dates are Jan. 14, Jan. 21, Feb. 11, Feb 18,Feb. 25, March 4, and March 11. Articles could be about anything, but here's some noteworthy examples: William Powell and Loretta Young, a huge New York City emporium of both collectibles and junk called Bob's Swap and Shop, a master blacksmith, people killed seeking treasure, the National Parachute Jumpers Association, a New York City man who groomed women for marriage, Broadway, and llamas. Each issue also has a short story and lots of recipes. The magazines are printed on newsprint so there's some toning, but all are clean and tightly bound. They measure 8-1/2x11-1/2". NOTE: Overseas orders subject to a higher cost than stated due to weight. Use the contact button and provide your destination and I will quote actual cost for your consideration.

16 Hope, Bob; Hutton, Betty; Allyson, June Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Magazine Firestone 50th Anniversary
U.S.A. Hope, Bob; Hutton, Betty; Allyson, June 1950 1950 Edition Soft Cover Very Good 8 James Montgomery Flagg
Beautiful copy of the 1950 Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Magazine, made extra-special with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company of Akron, Ohio. Firestone, along with Goodrich and Goodyear, was at the time of publication one of the largest employers in the city, then known as "the rubber capital of the world." Aside from lots of great circus photos and a Firestone ad on the back cover, there's also a two page color spread inside advertising Firestone, as well as a black and white ad on the reverse side of rear cover touting Fomex padding and its use for fall mats and seats at the circus. This issue also offers the complete 1950 program act-by-act, plus articles by and about celebrities of the day. Cecil B. De Mille wrote a piece about why the circus would be the setting for his next epic film; Bob Smith of "Howdy Doody" fame wrote about Howdy Doody joining the Ringling Circus; and Bob Hope penned a personal piece about why he loved circus clowns. Betty Hutton also tells about the thrill of playing Annie Oakley and June Allyson writes about what it meant to be an animal trainer. There's also a great story about the circus cookhouse at the Hotel Ringling and the huge tent that served as its dining hall. Magazine is clean and nice with just a flat crease to lower front corner. Measures 8-1/2" x 11" ansd has 36 pages. Clean and tightly bound. Only fault is creasing to lower front corner over cover, but lies flat.

Canton, Ohio Canal Society of Ohio 1975 Resumed first Card cover Very Good Bob Klansek
This set of four commemorative booklets were published to celebrate 150 years of Ohio's Canals. And now, 42 years later, the canals are 192. The booklets are very rarely found altogether. I bought them a long time ago -- so long I'd forgotten I had them. The booklets measure 6-1/4" x 9-1/4" with 68 pages over the four. There is a good narrative and many black and white photos. The blue booklet, the first, is in good condition, but the other three are pristine. The blue one shows the mark of a staple at the top edge of the back cover, a little light soil that refuses to go completely away, and a small shallow crease at the top front. Very nice pverall.
