A Brilliant History Jewels at Sotheby's (1978)
1 A Brilliant History Jewels at Sotheby's (1978)
London Sotheby's 1978 Card cover Fine condition
This is an unusual catalog for an auction, even by Sotheby's many handsome examples. This one features a famous person on each page -- the Duchess of Windsor, Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis, Edna Winston, Elton John, Countess Mona Bismarck, the Count and Countess du Boisrouvray, Ava Gardner, Helene Beaumont, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, and Marlene Dietrich. The jewels are top drawer from the most revered jewelers in the world and each is beautifully described. Catalog is printed on glossy paper throughout. The back paper which appears to be obstructing the photos, are just narrow strips with info on both sides. Catalog is clean and gorgeous with no names or writing. It measures 9" x 10-1/2". Very special. (Advertising)

Screen Book Magazine October, 1936
2 Screen Book Magazine October, 1936
Louisville, Kentucky Fawcett Publications 1936 Volume XVIII, No. 3 soft cpover Very good condition
Very nice clean magazine with just a small bit of spine strip missing at bottom. Does not impinge on integrity of binding, but I covered it with almost invisible archival tape. The cover is beautiful, a painting of Marlene Dietrich in "The Garden of Allah." Many photos and lots to read. Some of the highlights include "Claudette Colbert's Brother Says ..."; "Four Unseen Women in Bob Taylor's Life"; "Errol Flynn Wild Irishman"; The Marriage of Dick Powell and Joan Blondell; "Rosalind Russell Tells How to Get Rid of a Rival" and "If I Hadn't Been An Actor" by Gary Cooper. Magazine measures 8-1/2" x 11".

3 Trent Movie Theatre New Rochelle, 1936
New Rochelle, New York Trent Theatre 1936 Nov. 4-5; Nov. 6,7,8; Nov. 9-10 Leaklet soft cover Near fine condition
These little leaflets are hard to find because they're easily tossed away after the movies have been enjoyed. The leaflet is printed on an 8-1/2" x 11" sheet folded in the middle, so there are a week's entertainment. The first one is Marlene Dietrich And Charles Boyer in the Garden of Allah and The 39 Steps with Robert Donat and Madeleine Carroll. Open it up and Bette Davis and Claude Rains take over "Mr. Skeffinton" and "Lady Bodyguard" with Eddie Albert and Anne Shirley. Next to those are "A Girl, A Guy and A Gob" with George Murphy, Lucille Bal, l and Edmond O'Brien and "Wildcat" starring Richard Arlen and Atline Judge. The back ad is for "Brenda Starr Reporter" with Joan Woodbury, and Kane Richmonds. This apears to be sa erial movie, as the leaflet says "Don't Miss a Chapter every Friday and Saturday." There's also a comment on seeing Brenda every Friday and Saturday. The ads are clean and nice with just one very small tear which I have mended with archival tape.
