Ruger Sporting Firearms Catalog (1984)
4 Ruger Sporting Firearms Catalog (1984)
Southport, Connecticut Sturn, Ruger & Company Inc. circa 1984 Soft cover Very good condition
There is no date in this catalog that I can find. Very often though there isnt a date by design so that the catalog can remain in action longer. A little research indicated however indicated that this was published around 1984. It's very nice and clean with just one fault -- a tiny puncture on the front cover which I almost missed. To keep it small I put a tiny piece of archival tape over it from the reverse side. The catalog measures 8-1/2" x 11 and has 27 pages. Among the types are M-77 Bolt-Action Rifle; No. 1 Single-shot Rifle; No. 1 Light Sporter; Mini-14 Semi Automatic Rifles; Over and Under Shotguns; New 77/22 Rimfore Rifle; Automatic Pistols; New Model Single-Actions; New Model Super Blackhawk and much more.

Smith & Wesson Manufacturers of Superior Revolvers (Original Envelope Plus Xtras) 1930
5 Smith & Wesson Manufacturers of Superior Revolvers (Original Envelope Plus Xtras) 1930
Springfield, Massachusetts Smith & Wesson 1930 Card cover Very good in good Envelope
Very nice catalog plus lots of extra goodies. The main attraction of course is the catalog which has 40 pages of products. Each item is photographed and described with plenty of detail. The catalog measures 7-1/2" x 9-1/2" and is very clean with just some light foxing to first and last pages. The catalog slips into the original envelope which is quite study, though has lost its flap. There had also been a letter which came in the letter section at the bottom of the larger envelope, but it has not survived. However, there's a nice brochure about the K-22 ,the Outdoors Man's Revolver, which opens to further text on both pages and still more at back. There is also a small price guide for the 1930 catalog and a very colorful little brochure about the S. & W.".38-.44" which opens to 8-1/2"x 10-1/4" Brochure is printed on both sides. All told, this is a nice package for the collector.

Sportsman's Den Catalog 1972-73 Guns and Accessories (Youngstown, Ohio)
7 Sportsman's Den Catalog 1972-73 Guns and Accessories (Youngstown, Ohio)
Youngstown, Ohio Sportman's Den 1972 soft cover Good condition
Trade catalogs are always interesting to peruse, but if you are a hunter or target shooter, this one is a blast (ha-ha!) from the past, especially when you see the prices. There are many illustrations and a vast variety of products filling 264 pages. The catalog measures 8-1/2" x 11" and is tightly bound and clean. There's some wear to the spine edges, but none is serious and doesn't impinge on the integrity of the binding. The lower corner of the front cover and the top corner of the back cover are creased, but I opened the layers of paper and re-glued them and also stabilized them on the reverse side with a thin piece of archival tape which is virtually invisible. Catalog ships for $2 media mail.

The American Rifleman Magazine July 1931 (Portsmouth, Ohio First Muzzle-loading Matches)
8 The American Rifleman Magazine July 1931 (Portsmouth, Ohio First Muzzle-loading Matches)
Washington D.C. National Rifle Association 1931 Vol. LXXIX, No.7 soft cover Good-plus
Magazine has been cleaned by me and a short area at top of spine has been repaired, also by me, with almost invisible archival tape to keep it from worsening. There is still some soil to cover, but overall this is a nice, tightly bound piece. It's a large one too measuring 9"x12". The big story to me was the launch of the first muzzleloading shooting matches at Portsmouth, Ohio, an event which also launched the rebirth of shooting black powder firearms as a sport. Other topics include woodchuck hunting, the Super-X. cartridges, the new Bausch & Lomb Spottong Scope, and much more. 52 pages

13 No author name Winchester-Wesson The Great Gun Bonanaza Promotional Package 1983
Winchester-Wesson 1983 Card folder, soft cover catalog All items fine
This is an astounding advertising promo package. The folder is clean and attractive and opens both front and back where many items await. The left one holds the loose items in a plastic bag -- four green $10 bonus oickets, a notebook pad for a $40.00 prize and a large sticker and single sheets with info on new firearms, plus a brochure about the rebate. The center of this folder shows seven answers about the sale by lifting the tags. The back part of the folder has lots more adverttising, but there's also a very nice 1983 catalog. Colt Model O Armorer's Manual, No Author Stated
14 No Author Stated Colt Model O Armorer's Manual
Unknown Unknown 1995 Revised edition soft cover Very good
I have never seen this booklet and am somewhat taken aback by its lack of publishing information. But this is a subject which is not often covered and there are numerous instructional drawings. Material covers scopes, O models, product features, external components, tool kit and supplies, inspection procedures, troubleshooting, disassembly and assembly for repair, general part fitting and care and maintenance. Booklet is simply made and measures 8-1.2" x 11" with 52 pages. Clean and bright inside and out. Only fault is a shadow from a small sticker affixed to front cover.

United States Military Muskets Rifles Carbines & Their Current Prices (1959), Rywell, Martin
15 Rywell, Martin United States Military Muskets Rifles Carbines & Their Current Prices (1959)
Harriman, Tennessee Pioneer Press 1959 Later printing soft cover Very Good condition
Nice, bold graphic on front cover makes this booklet an eye catcher. I've never had one before, but am impressed with the amount of work to research and write it. The booklet begins with a lengthy text on firearms in American history. At first glance the prices seem out of date, but the author has set up an extensive chart for all example items with descriptions and measurements. The prices prove interesting too, as a collector can compare the price then with the price now. Booklet measures 6" x 9" and has 49 pages. Photographs in black and white at back. Very clean and tightly bound with no names or writing.
