Game Face Cleveland Indian Scorebook Magazine Commemorative Issue 1993; Tribute to Cleveland Stadium Official Souvenir Print October 2, 1993 (Cleveland Indians Baseball)
3 Game Face Cleveland Indian Scorebook Magazine Commemorative Issue 1993; Tribute to Cleveland Stadium Official Souvenir Print October 2, 1993 (Cleveland Indians Baseball)
Cleveland, Ohio Cleveland Indians Baseball 1993 soft cover Very good
These items came together so I am leaving them together, as both are mementos of the last Cleveland Indians baseball season to be held at the old Cleveland Stadium. The magazine measures 8-1/2"x11" and still retains its unused scorecards for the final series at Cleveland Stadium. It's a glossy magazine with lots of photos and Cleveland baseball history. Magazine is clean and bright with just one tear to lower front corner which was repaired on reverse side with tape by former owner. The print measures 8"x11" also and shows likenesses of Andre Thornton, Mel Harder, Bob Feller and Lou Boudreau. The text reads "Tribute to Cleveland Stadium October 2, 1993." Nice package!

Postcard Wright's Trading Post Albuquerque 1919
8 Postcard Wright's Trading Post Albuquerque 1919
Unknown Very good
This card was republished later by a bookstore, but this is the early one. There's a nice description on the back, but the postmark obscures it a bit. Basically it says that the trading post was a "headquarters for Indians and their curios" located in a three story building modeled after Indian architecture. A Navajo sweat house is next to it where the Medicine man cured the sick. Card was sent to Francis Russell of Minerva, Ohio from New Mexico. The message on the divided back reads, "June 4, '19. I am feeling OK. Will leave 10:15 tonight for El Paso. Get there at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Weather better, but not very warm yet. Hope all are well. With love, Dad.

The Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Quarterly 1945 (Full Run, 4 Issues)
13 The Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Quarterly 1945 (Full Run, 4 Issues)
Columbus, Ohio the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society 1945 soft cover Good to Very Good
It's unsuual to find a whole set of these early journals, but here we have them. Were it not for the yapped edges, which protect the contents well, but themselves tear and fall off, or get trimmed off by the owner after they run amok, these would be incredibly good. As it is, there has been some trimming and there are some edge tears, but the journals are clean and nice inside and are tightly bound. One contains photographs, the others do not. Topics include, but are not limited to: Origin and Significance of Pennsylvania Barn Symbols (photos); Quakers & the Shawnee Indians at Wapakoneta; the Reform Movement in Ohio; the Anti-Gallows Movement in Ohio; Lincoln in Ohio; an Unrecorded Incident of Morgan's Raid; Cleveland Doctors & Their Fees and other medical history. NOTE: All ship for $2.00 in the U.S. OVERSEAS orders sadly will be higher than stated due to weight. Please inquire with item and destination for actual cost. History of the Ottawa and Chippewa Indians of Michigan, Blackbird, Andrew J. (Chief Mack-E-Te-Be-Nessy)
15 Blackbird, Andrew J. (Chief Mack-E-Te-Be-Nessy) History of the Ottawa and Chippewa Indians of Michigan
Harbor Springs,Michigan Little Traverse Regional Historical Society Inc. circa 1991 Reprint soft cover Fine
This is much newer than most of the things I buy, but it's a reprint of an 1887 history originally published in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The small format (just 5"x6-1/2" plus the simplicity of the binding, makes it rather ephemeral. This copy appears unread and is clean as a whistle inside and out. Hemingway fans will enjoy the stamp on the front page (see photo two) which commemorates the marriage of Papa and his first wife, Hadley Richardson, in Horton Bay, Michigan Sept. 3, 1921. The book tells the story of the Ottawa and Chippewa tribes of Michigan and also includes a grammar of their language, as well as a personal and family history of the author, a Native American who was the son of an Ottawa chief. 128 pages.

The booklet signed his name on an agreement in the blue booklet -- he was one of three. The agreement is in the booklet. The final one was "For a consideration of one dollar paid to Reobert Feller this. An agreement is declared valid." The book measures 5-1/2" x 9-1/2" and has 32 pages with many stats and photos. Be sure to read the names on the cover of the program. Bob wrote thus, "To Shirley From Bob Feller." Nice gift.

Tucson, Arizona Self-Published 1979 soft cover Very Good
Crisp and clean with extra goodies inside. The previous owner slipped several related articles into the pages, none of which caused browning.
