Centenary St. Stephen's Parish 1843-1943 (Philadelphia)
1 Centenary St. Stephen's Parish 1843-1943 (Philadelphia)
Phildelphia, PA St. Stephen's Church 1943 soft cover Good
Clean tightly bound centenary celebration keepsake. Brown wraps feel very supple and are marred only by small tears to the yapped edges which is very common due to the fact that the edges extend beyond the text. Corners also show flat creasing, but have been strengthened by me at back with mending tissue to keep them from snapping off (see photo). There are no names or writing. Printed on quality coated paper and illustrated profusely throughout with black and white photographs. Also includes an extensive text. Not commonly found. Measures 8"x11" and has 192 pages. Local ads at back.

Beautiful from its shiny metallic toe shoe on the cover to its 32 full-color pages of dancer photographs and bios. This is not a program, it's a souvenir of the 1984-85 season of the Cleveland Ballet. How impossible it is to believe that all these young dancers are 30 years older now! The souvenir is truly that -- a keepsake of a long gone season of magic Booklet is crisp and clean and beautifully cared for.

Mr. Lincoln Sits For His Portrait (Life Magazine 30th Anniversary, 1966)
4 Mr. Lincoln Sits For His Portrait (Life Magazine 30th Anniversary, 1966)
U.S.A. Time Inc. 1966 Card cover Near fine condition
I've never seen this before, but it was actually plentiful in its day. It's only proved to be ephemeral over time. The last issue of Look Magazine for the year 1966 sported a photography theme, so a keepsake about Lincoln's portraits was the perfect little extra. Other than some rust to the staples, this little booklet is as crisp and clean as new. The photo is very handsome and there are five pages of text. It measures 5" x 7". Nice item for a Lincoln collector. (History III)

National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association South Eastern Rendezvous 1982 (with Medallion)
5 National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association South Eastern Rendezvous 1982 (with Medallion)
Friendship, Indiana N.M.L.R.A. 1982 Soft cover Good condition
Crisp and clean as new with the keepsake medallion in it's original bag stapled to front corner. NMLRA is still conducting target shooting competitions using single bullet muzzleloaders. The competition is about sport of course, but it's also an endeavor for competitors to arrive in historical garb. The program measures 5-1/2" x 8-3/4"and has 16 pages. The only defect is the fate of many programs of all kinds -- a vertical fold right now the center. It's unusual to find the token.

Program Bal Du Moulin Rouge Paris Fantastic (1970)
6 Program Bal Du Moulin Rouge Paris Fantastic (1970)
Paris, France Editions IKA 1970 soft cover Very Good condition
Outstanding cover design and lots of photos inside showing the various acts at the Moulin Rouge Fantastic. Some are in color, others in black and white, but both show the grandness of the show. The program is in French, but it isn't hard to get the gist. It's a very attractive keepsake from the legendary cabaret of Montmarte. The program is viewed vertically at first glance, but is turned horizontally to read it. It measures 8-1/2" x 10-3/4" and has 21 counted pages. Very clean and nice. (ENT.-2)

Silver Jubilee Our Lady of Lourdes Church Dedication February 11, 1982 (Florida)
7 Silver Jubilee Our Lady of Lourdes Church Dedication February 11, 1982 (Florida)
Florida Our Lady of Lourdes Church 1982 soft cover Very good condition.
Very nice, clean booklet commemorating the dedication of the new Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Only fault is a flat crease to lower front corner of cover. Oddly, there is no reference to the exact town in Florida where it's located, but there is a photo of the presiding Bishop of Orlando, Thomas J. Grady. This is an exceptional keepsake thanks to the many photographs, including some in full color, plus lots of photos of the parishioners in action. There's also history and a roster of the patrons who helped make the new church possible. As always with these momentos, there are ads at the back of the book, but they aren't overwhelming. Some of these have more ads than content but this isn't one of them. Book measures 8-1/2" x 11".

Cleveland, Ohio Case School of Applied Science 1931 Card cover Fine
This 25th college reunion souvenir is both beautiful and beautifully kept. It also includes a sepia toned photograph taken at the dinner which measures 8"x10" and has no names or writing on the back. The souvenir itself is a booklet which measures 8-1/2"x11" and is covered with a very nice textural paper. Inside is a class picture from graduation, followed by the complete class roster with biographical info on each grad, a few then and now photos, and a program for the two day event held May 26-27, 1931 at the Park Lane Villa located in Cleveland at the corner of Park Lane and East 105th Street. Along with all of this is a letter to alums, a notice of change of venue, and a statement of costs for the party. The only fault is a bit of toning to one small area at top margin of first page. Sphere Magazine Heralding the Coronation May 8, 1937
9 Sphere Magazine Heralding the Coronation May 8, 1937
London, EnglandIllustrated Newspapers 1937 May 8, 1937 soft cover Very good condition
This is a sumptuous keepsake published to commemorate the coronation of King George VI. The magazine is huge measuring 9-1/2 x 14-1/4" and comes with a sturdy black slipcase to keep it nice. The pages are clean and tightly bound, but the front cover's top staple pulled away from the front cover only. The other staple is intact. Many historical photographs and drawings show in both black and white and sepia. But what's really eye-catching is the art -- produced in saturated color that jumps off the page. So beautiful that it's hard to pick just five photos to show you! Ships in the U.S. for $2 economy mail.

11 The Crimson and Gray Medina High School 1916 (Ohio)
Medina,Ohio Median High School 1916 Card cover Very Good Condition
Very clean and handsome yearbook for the Class of 1916 at Medina High School, Medina, Ohio. The previous owner kept track of name changes for the girls as they married, so this is especially helpful for anyone working on Medina genealogy. of course the lower classes are given a nod too, but most of the focus is on the seniors as expected. There are club and sport pictures and info, plus alumni lists (going back to 1876) and great local ads. Really nice graphics and a sense of humor also makes it a fun keepsake. The yearbook measures 7" x 9" and has 111 pages. Very clean and tightly bound. If you are looking for a specific person I am happy to verify that "your person" is in there. Other early Medina yearbooks available. ADDENDUM: I just got a second copy of this yearbook. Very nice condition, but no name changes on this one. New York St. Regis Paper Co. 1976 soft covers in wooden box Fine condition
This item was created by the St. Regis Paper Company as a Bicentennial keepsake. The previous owner kept it beautifully -- everything is bright and crisp. The first photo shows the wooden clamshell box covered with a linen-like fabric. Inside are nine booklets -- one of which bears the name on the box cover, plus these: Ben Franklin and the Colonial Printing Industry; Propaganda for the American Revolution; William Penn and American Cities; Equal Rights and Democracy; Medicine in America; Selling the West; Newspapers and Public Opinion; the Growth Business; and Magazine Journalism and the American Lifestyle. Also included is a fold-out titled The Common Press; A Brief History Description & Instructions for Operation of the Original Printer, plus the print which is rolled and tied with a red ribbon, a color print titled the Unhappy Sufferers, which was sold by Paul Revere. At the bottom of the box there are even more items -- a letter from William Penn; a large color folded map of California's Cold Regions, two handbills, a tri-fold about advertising and merchandising in the early days of mass distribution, and a fold-out poster advertising Henry & Johnson Linament. Altogether a lovely thing. Very giftable.

18 Bell, Corydon Like the Down of a Thistle (Christmas Gift Book 1948)
Cleveland, Ohio Tower Press 1948 Hard cover
Here we have a gift book printed as a holiday keepsake as indicated by a page which reads thus, "This Christmas book brings to you the season's greetings from Chas.J. Theurer of Tower Press Inc." Though I can't seem to find out who the Charles Theurer was, I do know that the author of the book, Corydon Bell, was a writer and illustrator from Tiffin, Ohio who worked as a team with his wife, Thelma, who also wrote and illustrated. Thelma is not mentioned here as both story and pictures were created by Corydon, but she was quite accomplished. The book is very cheaminf and measures just 5"x8" with 30 crisp, clean pages. Onlt fault is a small tear at bottom of spine, which I was able to reglue. It's holding nicely/
