Rothenburg ob der Tauber 20 Selected Postcards in Original Box
5 Rothenburg ob der Tauber 20 Selected Postcards in Original Box
Bavaria Bruno Hansmann No Date Fine
Beautiful, beautiful! Here we have 20 selected postcards of the charming Bavarian town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, which retains its medieval charm to this day and is noted for a skyline replete with 42 gates and towers. There is no date anywhere on these, but they are clearly older and in mint condition save a name written small on the flap. These are designed as a mailer with cards attached to one another, but there is a box attached too and cards can easily be separated. As is, they fold back up accordion style and you draw the flap over to close it. What makes these so utterly beautiful are the colors -- only a few - grey, dark brown, dark red and dark green with the cccasional bit of sharp white. Love them!

If you love old engravings this is your book, whether you like herbals or not. But the herbal itself offers drawings of each plant and information about its use for a total of 85 specimens used for cooking, healing, and getting rid of odors and pests. The paper is lovely, as is the beautiful cover which has herbal paper over the boards and a rosy cloth spine. The dustkajacket matched. It's very cleana nd crisp, but down show a closed tear top the top front and a few small creases. Has not been price-clipped and is handsome in brand new mylar. 16 Professor Franch Mitchell Treasures of Early Irish Art 1500-B.C. to 1500 A.D. Plus Commentary Booklet (1978)
Washington D.C. Metropolitan Museum of Art 1978 0870991647 / 9780870991646 Second printing Car cover Vary Good condition
The main exhibition book is lacking in nothing. Gorgeous works of art make every page an immersion in color and design. There is much text on the pages but inside this catalog there's a separate commentary on it too.The exhibition was taken "across the pond" to the United States, though none of these major treasures ever made the trip before -- for good reason. Imagine sending the the Book of Kells, the Ardagh Chalice and the great stone cross from Dysert O'Dea. But traveled they did and returned safely to Ireland. The exhibition catalog measures 8-1/2" x 11" and has 221 pages, pus the extra booklet which covers in 14 counted pages the various eras from prehistoric gold to late medieval Ireland.

There's a small portrait of Emerson at the front of the book. The book's cover is soft and textured with dark colors on both covers.
