A Happy New Year Bird Series Postcard Large Red Bird in Pine Boughs 1910
1 A Happy New Year Bird Series Postcard Large Red Bird in Pine Boughs 1910
Unknown 1910 Very good
The greeting, A Happy New Year, is hiding in the pine boughts in the lower left hand corner, so is easy to miss. But what a handsome card this is! It's gilded and embossed with a bold image superimposed over a small winter vignette. Lovely! This card was sent to a Mrs. C. Nundahl of Perry, North Dakota. The message reads, "Dear friend, Your card received. Thanks. It is a fine ? you have. Wish I could visit you sometime. Let us send cards once in a while. Best wishes for a Happy New Year. M.A." Card shows a little corner wear at the top, but is otherwise clean and nice.

Vintage Postcard, Calling Cards, Victorian die-cuts Hands and Flowers
4 Vintage Postcard, Calling Cards, Victorian die-cuts Hands and Flowers
Germany Unknown 1910 Very good
This is such a pretty grouping of a vintage postcard, two calling cards, and two Victorian die-cuts, brought together by a common theme -- hands and flowers. The silvery postcard was sent to Bertha Randall of Medina, Ohio in 1910 from C.W.R. who wrote the flamboyant message upside-down. The two calling cards appear to have been homemade by affixing die-cuts to an already printed card. The larger one is 2"x4" and the smaller 1-3/4"x3-1/2". The die cut design is lifted up to reveal the names -- Mr.& Mrs R.H. Fombaugh and Maggie Fombaugh, respectively. The areas around the designs have toned, but otherwise they're lovely. The loose die-cutes show evidence of glue at back, but only to one end which means they likely decorated a card as well. They measure 2"x3-1/4" and relay two different messages.

5 Carl Forslund It's Fun to Buy From Forslund's Portfolio of Quaint American Furniture (1958 catalog)
Grand Rapids, Michigan Carl Forslund Inc. 1958 1958 Catalog Card cover Very good condition
This catalog joins a list of furniture manufacturers and sellers from the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. For decades they had dominated the furniture industry, but the items in this catalog are not the furniture of the 50's with its obvious modernity. Forslund's was a retro trip through colonial and rustic furniture and accessories including dishes, lamps, carpet, and more. But even within the retro look there were choices -- quaint American, Forslund farmstead, plantation pine, and American mahogany. The catalog measures 8-1/2" x 11" and has 104 pages.
