John M. Ashbrook Late A Representative From Ohio: Memorial Addresses Delivered In Congress 1982
2 John M. Ashbrook Late A Representative From Ohio: Memorial Addresses Delivered In Congress 1982
Washington, D.C. U.S. Government Printing Office 1982 Presumed first Hard cover Fine condition
I have seen these memorials for a couple members of the House and Senate, but this is the most contemporary. Representative John M. Ashbrook R., was a strong conservative, so much so that the 1982 Alamanac of Amderican Politics called his far right beliefs "almost a catalog of lost causes." But Ashbrook was heartily memoralized by his colleagues. The Ohioans who spoke were Clarence J. Brown, Dennis E. Eckhart, Willis D. Gradison Jr.. Tony P. Hall, Thomas N. Kindness, Delbert L. Latta, Bob McEwen, Clarence E. Miller, Michael G. Oxley, Donald J. Pease, Ralph Regula, John F. Seiberling, Bob Shamansky, Louis Stokes, Ed Weber, Chalmers P. Wylie, The Honorable John Glenn, and Haward M. Metzenbaum. The book measures 6" x 9" and is bo,ud in a handsome black cloth. The book has 96 pristine pages and no names or writing anywhere. Rep. Ashbrook died at 53.

Rep.John Seiberling Campaign Collectibles 1970
3 Rep.John Seiberling Campaign Collectibles 1970
Akron, Ohio Seiberling In Congress Committee 1970 Paper and Metal pin All items nice
This is a grouping of John Seiberling's campaign collectibles. Seiberling, a Democrat, ran for Congress against Ayres in 1970 and not won and, but also stayed on for decades. He was also involved in the Akron Metropolitan Park System and saved Brandywine Falls from the encroachment of the Interstate highways The one that says "The Democrat who can beat Ayers" is a brochure, the other card has two sides, the bumper sticker still has its backing, and a 3" diameter button still has its pin. The white section at the bottom looks like it's a loss of p[int, but it's actually a tiny insignia for AFL-CIO. There will be moe Seiberling this week.

5 La Cossitt, Henry (editor) Collier's Magazine February 16, 1946 (Lindbergh)
Springfield, Ohio Crowell-Collier Publishing 1946 Volume 117, No. 7 soft cover Fine condition
Very crisp, clean magazine with no defects of note. This issue offers six short stories and nine articles. This time the attention-getter is Part I of which was to be a two parter all about Lindbergh flying over the Pacific. The piece was written by Cool. Charles MacDonald. The was of course was over, but a major story focused on the housing problem. So many servicemen returned to the U.S. it was a competition to snag what houses were available, either for rent or to buy. Another piece is more upbeat following years of anguish. It takes a look at at the Paris fashion houses and their models. The magazine is quite large at 10-3/4" x 13-3/4" with no mailing label. It also contains some nice color ads for Old Taylor whiskey, Seiberling rubber, Kelvinator refrigerators, Ford, The Airlines of the U.S., Kodak Brownie camera, Bicycle playing cards, Spartan Radio, Firestone tires, Red Cap ale, Philadelphia whiskey, and more,
