The Sheer Look covers refrigerators, upright freezers, ranges, cook-tops, built-in wall ovens, washers and dryers, dishwashers, "food waste disposers", water heaters, and air conditioners. The Sheer Look measures 6" x 8-1/2" and has 14 pages. The Right Angle measures 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", but is not a booklet as it appears. New York City The American Spectator Inc. 1932-1933 Volume I, Nos. 1-7 Soft cover Very good condition
Aren't these handsome with their original colorful bands? The bands slip on and off, so not to worry about being able to read the articles. What's interesting also is the fact that these are the first ever issues. There are many voices here that you will recognize -- Theodore Dreiser, Eugene O'Neill, Clarence Darrow, Liam O'Flaherty, Louis Untermeyer, Sean O'Casey, Booth Tarkington, and more. Closed the papers measures 9" x 11-1/2". Only volume I shows some toning to front pages. NOTE -- this is not the political magazine of the same name.

Some Merry Adventures of Robin Hood (1968), Pyle, Howard
3 Pyle, Howard Some Merry Adventures of Robin Hood (1968)
New York Scribners 1954/1968 later printing Hard cover Very good condition Pyle, Howard
Howard Pyle is best noted for his art -- especially his book on pirates -- but here he not only made the art, but also wrote the text. The book came out in 1954 and was so popular that it was still running through the press in 1968, the year this book was sold. There are a dozen stories here which Pyle chose from the Robin Hood literature to be of interest to children. I think adults would like it too -- great fun to read aloud by the fire on a winter's day eve. the book measures 5-3/4" x 8" and has 212 pages. The dustjacket is already covered with brand new mylar.

The Playbill Leslie Howard in The Petrified Forest, 1935 (The Broadhurst Theatre), Sherwood, Robert,
4 Sherwood, Robert, The Playbill Leslie Howard in The Petrified Forest, 1935 (The Broadhurst Theatre)
New York City The New York Theatre Program Corporation 1935 Week of May 27, 1935 soft cover Very good condition
Other than a light vertical crease caused by theatre-goers who casually fold their programs on their way out the door this is a pristine specimen. It was distributed the week of May 27, 1935. In addition to Leslie Howard, there's Humphrey Bogart as Duke Mantee. The backdrop is "the Black Mesa B-B-Q, a gas station and lunch room at a lonely crossroads in the eastern Arizona desert. The action begins late in the afternoon of an autumn day in the present year and continues into the evening of the same day." So then -- what's with the cover art? Program measures 6-3/4" x 9" and has 32 pages.
