Downtown Cleveland is the coolest place to live these days, but in 1983 when this study came out the suburbs ruled. 3 A Plan For Historic Preservation Charlestown, Massachusetts 1968
Charlestown, Massachusetts Charlestown Preservation Society Inc. 1968 Very Good Soft Cover Good-plus
I very much like old urban planning/historical preservation items, so of course had to have this one. It was likely printed for the exclusive use of the Charlestown Preservation Society, so there aren't too many kicking around. The booklet is clean and oversized at 9"x11" and spiral bound to lie flat. The plastic comb is completely intact. It's illustrated throughout with maps and black and white photographs. A very interesting retrospective of the town.

5 Art In America Magazine May/June, 1970 Mormon Art & Architecture, Alexander Calder)
New York Art In America Inc. 1970 soft cover Good-plus
This is an especially good issue of this art magazine if you are interested in Mormon life, art, and architecture. Eighteen pages plus the cover are devoted to the subject with many photographs in both color and black and white. The coverage consists of three articles: A Panorama of Mormon Life, Mormon Art and Architecture, and Mormon Society -- A Photo Story. The other standout is a full color, heavyweight fold-out by Alexander Caldwell to accompany an article about him and his work, Spirals. The magazine measures 9"x12" and is very clean and tightly bound. Choirs From the Basilicas and the Vatican (Program Laid-in) 1919
13 Choirs From the Basilicas and the Vatican (Program Laid-in) 1919
New York St. Gregory Musical society Inc. 1919 soft cover Very Good
This two-piece souvenir of a 1919 evening of liturgical music marks the first time in history that the choirs from the Roman Basilicas and the Vatican performed outside of Rome. The program does not indicate the city directly, but an Ohio reference on back cover and the fact that the location was St. Clair Avenue leads us to believe it had to have been Cleveland. The most important piece, however, is the larger brochure which measures 8x10" and is profusely illustrated and filled with information about the choirs and their history. Although unpaginated, we counted 24. Cover, though simple, is banded in gold with ecclisastical decoration.
