Ruger Sporting Firearms Catalog (1984)
2 Ruger Sporting Firearms Catalog (1984)
Southport, Connecticut Sturn, Ruger & Company Inc. circa 1984 Soft cover Very good condition
There is no date in this catalog that I can find. Very often though there isnt a date by design so that the catalog can remain in action longer. A little research indicated however indicated that this was published around 1984. It's very nice and clean with just one fault -- a tiny puncture on the front cover which I almost missed. To keep it small I put a tiny piece of archival tape over it from the reverse side. The catalog measures 8-1/2" x 11 and has 27 pages. Among the types are M-77 Bolt-Action Rifle; No. 1 Single-shot Rifle; No. 1 Light Sporter; Mini-14 Semi Automatic Rifles; Over and Under Shotguns; New 77/22 Rimfore Rifle; Automatic Pistols; New Model Single-Actions; New Model Super Blackhawk and much more.

The American Rifleman Magazine July 1931 (Portsmouth, Ohio First Muzzle-loading Matches)
3 The American Rifleman Magazine July 1931 (Portsmouth, Ohio First Muzzle-loading Matches)
Washington D.C. National Rifle Association 1931 Vol. LXXIX, No.7 soft cover Good-plus
Magazine has been cleaned by me and a short area at top of spine has been repaired, also by me, with almost invisible archival tape to keep it from worsening. There is still some soil to cover, but overall this is a nice, tightly bound piece. It's a large one too measuring 9"x12". The big story to me was the launch of the first muzzleloading shooting matches at Portsmouth, Ohio, an event which also launched the rebirth of shooting black powder firearms as a sport. Other topics include woodchuck hunting, the Super-X. cartridges, the new Bausch & Lomb Spottong Scope, and much more. 52 pages

Weatherbird Presents Super Circus Great Animal Show (circa 1949-56), Giles, Ken
6 Giles, Ken Weatherbird Presents Super Circus Great Animal Show (circa 1949-56)
U.S.A. Weatherbird Shoes Circa 1949-56 soft cover Fine condition
This is an astonishing find based on Super Circus, one of the earliest TV shows for children. It was sponsored by Weatherbird Shoes and began in Chicago in 1949 and ended in New York in 1956. I was born in 1951 and we had TV by'52, but I have no memory of this show. All I remember is Ding-Dong School with Arlene Francis! This booklet is in amazing condition -- crisp and clean as new with just a small bit of wear to a small section of top back edge. It's a pop-out book of animals with instructions on how to assemble them. There are five pages with all pieces intact. Measures 10" x 10-1/2" and is truly rare.

7 MacGregor, Hugo; Shual, Katon Nuit-Isis; Journal of the Nu Equinox Vol.I, No. 5
Oxford, U.K. Golden Dawn Publications 1988 Volume I, No. 5 soft cover Very good
These journals are not often seen, but are an important British contribution to the literature of the occult. I had never seen one, so there was much to learn about the subject. This one is clean and tightly bound with a compelling cover graphic. Measures 8"x11-1/2" and has 32 pages. The journal was dedicated to Thelemic topics. This issue offers an article about the Marquis de Sade, the Magick Path of Tantra, The Puja of the Three Super Faculties, The Scroll of Esoteric Nath Wisdom, Thelema in Appenzell, the kabbalstic tree, and more. Illustrated.
