The American Spectator: A Literary Newspaper (Vol.I, Nos 1-7, 1932-33)
1 The American Spectator: A Literary Newspaper (Vol.I, Nos 1-7, 1932-33)
New York City The American Spectator Inc. 1932-1933 Volume I, Nos. 1-7 Soft cover Very good condition
Aren't these handsome with their original colorful bands? The bands slip on and off, so not to worry about being able to read the articles. What's interesting also is the fact that these are the first ever issues. There are many voices here that you will recognize -- Theodore Dreiser, Eugene O'Neill, Clarence Darrow, Liam O'Flaherty, Louis Untermeyer, Sean O'Casey, Booth Tarkington, and more. Closed the papers measures 9" x 11-1/2". Only volume I shows some toning to front pages. NOTE -- this is not the political magazine of the same name.

The Colophon; A Book Collectors Quarterly (1932 Part Nine)
2 The Colophon; A Book Collectors Quarterly (1932 Part Nine)
New York The Colophon Ltd. 1931 Hard cover Very Good Condition
I love this hard cover magazine and all of its other issues. As you can see above, this is Part Nine, but it's a stand-alone item, as the word part is similar to issue. This part includes these article topics: Walt Whitman; death by spontaneous combustion in literature; the story of Sequoya who invented the Cherokee Indian alphabet; hints to collecting Booth Tarkington; the pleasure of Edward Lear; Darwin's Origin of Species; Benjamin Gomez, New York's first Jewish bookseller; and book collecting. McCall's Magazine June, 1938 Booth Tarkington, Color Fashion Plates, Tarkington Booth
3 Tarkington Booth McCall's Magazine June, 1938 Booth Tarkington, Color Fashion Plates
New York McCall's 1938 soft cover Very good
Very special issue of this popular womens' magazine. Not only does it have part three of a serialized novel, Otherwise Kitty Swift, by Booth Tarkington, but also a glamorous wedding and fashion section. The clothes are gorgeous and are rendered in full color -- TEN pages with multiple images per page. There's also an article about what young people thought about war. Many color ads too. Huge format -- measures 11"x13-3/4" Magazine is very clean, but does have a few faults, none of which impinge on the contents. These include a few tiny edge tears to side of front cover all of which have been repaired by me with small pieces of invisible archival tape at back and a 3"x1/2" clip to margin at top back cover. Overall very nice. Many McCall's magazines from the period available, so let me know if you're looking for a specific issue.
