Lille Before and During the War A Panoramic History and Guide (Michelin Illustrated Guide WWI, 1919)
2 Lille Before and During the War A Panoramic History and Guide (Michelin Illustrated Guide WWI, 1919)
France, England, U.S.A. Michelin Tire Company 1919 soft cover Very good
The Michelin Guides to WWI are collected by WWI buffs. Most of the time you see these without their jackets, but this one retains it. The jacket is clean and the paper is still crisp, but there is some foxing to the right edge of the front cover and a tiny chip to upper corner of it. The booklet itself is pristine with no names or writing. It measures 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and has 64 pages. Printed on quality coated paper and illustrated with black and white photographs and maps. Others available from this series.

Rheims And the Battles for Irs Possession (Michelin Guides to the Battlefields (1919)
3 Rheims And the Battles for Irs Possession (Michelin Guides to the Battlefields (1919)
Milltown, New Jersey Michelin Tire Co. 1919 Flexible boards Very good condition
The Michelin guides are quite a good series with much information for the tourist. But they also provide a concise view of the devastation in France in the aftermath of WWI. The guide measures 6"x 8", has 176 pages printed on quality coated paper, and is illustrated with small photographs throughout. The boards are very clean as are the pages. The only faults are lack of dust jacket and a tiny chip to the side edge of the front free endpaper. Very collectible, as there is a guide for every major battle field in France.

4 The Padlock Collector: Illustrations and Price of 500 Padlocks of the Past 100 Years 1977
Mentone, California Franklin M. Arnall 1977 0914638025 / 9780914638025 Third Edition Card cover Very good condition
This is an unusual item! So much so that the woman at the check-out laughed and laughed because she was sure I would never sell it. Well, she might be right, but I have sold stranger things. Besides, these are really quite interesting -- I love it! There are American, Scandinavian, Chinese, and different types of padlocks, including some for the railroad. The booklet measures 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and has 71 pages. There's also a four page leaflet laid-in from Ray Huffman's Collectibles in North Royalton, Ohio. The booklet is very clean and tightly bound with no names or writing.

5 World's Fair Chicago 1934 How Firestone High Speed Tires Are Made
Akron, Ohio Firestone Tire & R=ubber Company 1931 World's Fair Edition soft cover Near fine
Crisp clean booklet with just a few tiny isolated spots of edge wear. Paper is amazingly supple. Booklet measures 5"x8" and has 32 counted pages. Many photographs printed with a saturation of ink -- very handsome. Booklet advertises not just the tires though -- there's also batteries, spark plugs, tire rims, break lining. cushion connectors and flexible couplings, garden hose, industrial flooring -- and even boots. Interesting and well designed.
