The Bulletin of the Beaux-Arts Institute of Design December, 1931
2 The Bulletin of the Beaux-Arts Institute of Design December, 1931
New York City Beaux-Arts Institute of Design 1931 Volume Eight, Number Two Soft Cover Very good condition
This is a slim monthly magazine devoted to the ideas of Beaux-Arts architects. The front of the magazine explains the photographs at the back and the architects who won accolades for the designs. This is an over-sized item measuring 9" x 12" with 20 pristine pages. The projects highlighted are these: an end wing of an embassy building, a bus and street car terminal, a suburban bank, and a subway terminal. I have seven of these bulletins from 1926 to 1933 and will be happy to answer an inquiry about them. Eventually all will be listed.

The Scholar Printers Exhibition Catalog 1964
3 The Scholar Printers Exhibition Catalog 1964
Chicago, Illinois University of Chicago Press 1964 soft cover Very good
Very nice clean exhibition catalog devoted to printing, a very popular interest in a time of fine presses and the book arts. It is very clean and nice save that superficial scratch you see in the photo. The catalog measures 5-1/2"x8-1/2" and has 59 pages showcasing 68 printed items. The SCHOLAR PRINTERS actually consists of TWO exhibitions, both at the Newberry Library in honor of the Association of American University Presses on the occasion of their visit to Chicago on May 31, 1964. Exhibition I is entitled Printers, Publishers and Scholars Mainly From the John M. Wing Foundation on the History of Printing. Exhibition II is

The World Famous Great Gatsby's Antique Auction June 6th-7th, 1997 (Frank Loyd Wright's Personal Car)
4 The World Famous Great Gatsby's Antique Auction June 6th-7th, 1997 (Frank Loyd Wright's Personal Car)
Atlanta, Georgia Great Gatsby's 1997 soft cover Very Good
Fabulous over-sized auction catalog filled with rare and beautiful items, all of which are pictured in full color. Measures 10-1/2"x12-1/2 and is clean and tightly bound with just a few spots of wear at spine, none of which compromises its integrity. The former owner's mailing label is on the reverse. This particular catalog is noteworthy due to the sale of Frank Lloyd Wright's personal car, a 1956 Aztec Red Mercedes Gull Wing designed especially for him after he redesigned a New York City car dealership which has since been demolished. The opening bid was to have been $300,000 and Jay Leno was one of many collectors eyeing it, but, try as I may, I cannot find the gavel price. Catalog has 46 pages.
