1 75th Anniversary Gala Program Severance Hall, September 30, 2006 (Cleveland, Ohio)
Cleveland, Ohio Severance Hall 2006 7sth Anniversary Card cover Very good condition
Very handsome souvenir commemorating Severance Hall, home of the Cleveland Orchestra. Seventy-five years of fine music is captured in these pages, including blue tinted pictures. There are many people named in the first two pages -- chairs, co-chairs, honorary committee members, gala committee, grand benefactors, benefactors, patrons, and leadership gift donors. There's also a nice section about the orchestra's summer 2006 European tour, plus a retrospective of years past. The Opening Night Gala program is listed along with a bio of Franz Welser-Most, Music Director, and more. Program measures 8-1/2" x 11-1.2" and has 24 pages. Only fault is a small bit of scratching to lower back corner next to spine. Overall quite lovely and worth keeping.

French Hand-Tinted Photo Postcard Woman at Tea Table 1922
4 French Hand-Tinted Photo Postcard Woman at Tea Table 1922
France 1922 Very Good
Pretty in peach is this lovely young woman seated at a tea table alone -- or is she? Her expression may say otherwise! The details and the hand tinted dress, tea things, lamp and flowers add so much charm. This card was sent in the mail from Vianen, but is still quite lovely with no real wear. The divided back has a lengthy message and was sent to someone in Europe.

French Tinted Postcard Beautiful Woman in Garden
5 French Tinted Postcard Beautiful Woman in Garden
Paris Reutlinger No date Near Fine
The tinting of this card is so subtle you don't notice it at first glance. But there are green leaves and a pale pink gown. I'm not sure what this lovely lady is doing, but she's definitely in a flower garden. The card has not been used, so no real clue to date. But it appears to be from the early 1900's. The back is not divided and bears no writing. Up in the left hand corner at front it says that it's part of series no. 12.

Hand-tinted Postcard Young Girl with Flower Basket Numbered 529/1
6 Hand-tinted Postcard Young Girl with Flower Basket Numbered 529/1
Unknown Unknown Fine
This is a pretty card, but I can't decide if she's a young woman or a girl. She has the tiny body of a child and yet the marcelled hair and make-up make her seem older. There is no writing on the card at all and no indication of origin, but most of these vintage tinted cards derived from either France or Belgium. This one shows a number, 529/1 at the lower right hand corner. It's slightly undersized compared to the standard postcard, but only by a quarter of an inch on both length and width. Very beautifully done.

8 Heureuses Paques French Tinted Postcard (Happy Easter)Baby and Angels

Tinted French postcards are exquisite and this one is especially charming for Easter. The pretty baby lies peacefully in a bed of flowers while angels in a pink-lit sky dangle an Easter egg on a ribbon to amuse her. A perfect image for spring! The card has not been postally used, nor does it have any writing. It's very clean with just a few tiny spots of isolated edge wear. Will arrive in a plastic sleeve.

Real Photo Tinted Postcard Blond German Woman in Evening Dress (6336/6) 1920
10 Real Photo Tinted Postcard Blond German Woman in Evening Dress (6336/6) 1920
Germany Unknown 1920 Fine
Crisp as new postcard which has not been used. We know it's a real tinted photo as it shows the NBC company logo at the space for the postage stamp. Unfortunately, there are no dates available for NBC, so no clues to age. The card has not been used postally, but it does show a message in German on the opposite side of the divided back and the date 11/11/20. The subject is very pretty in evening clothes. Card will arrive in plastic sleeve.

Real Photo Wedding Postcard German Hand-Tinted
11 Real Photo Wedding Postcard German Hand-Tinted
Germany
I am fairly aswoon over this real photo postcard which is without question the most beautful I have ever had. The couple is attractive (the bride is especially lovely), the pose very romantic, and the details on the headpiece of her veil and at the top of her dress are exquisite in blue. The card was not sent, so it's possible to see the stamp box which shows the logo of an unknown maker of photographic paper, NBC. Consequently, there is no date.

Tinted Photo Postcard Young Girl Bobbed Hair Sitting on Pedestal
13 Tinted Photo Postcard Young Girl Bobbed Hair Sitting on Pedestal
Unknown Unknown Unknown
This pretty young lady is very slender in her diaphanous neglegee perched on top of a pedestal. I can't tell if her bobbed hair has been tinted a bit, but the trim on her gown has, as has the column of the pedestal. The only identification on it anywhere is the number 1517/3 in the lower right hand corner. The card has a divided back, but no message or address and no stamps.

Tinted Photograph: Little Girl Big Tricycle
14 Tinted Photograph: Little Girl Big Tricycle
Likely Ohio Unknown Photographer Da6te Unknown but likely 40's 50s Very Good
I bought this photo somewhere back in the late 90's, hoping that I would find who she was and where she lived, but I never did. Maybe it's better for this listing to be online. The odds are better and someone might know. The picture is subtly tinted in pink on her socks, the roses in the background, the dress, and her rosy cheeks. Her blond hair is also tinted in a yellowish color. The tricycle is quite large and it's what caught my eye first, but the little girl is quite cute. The photo measures 8" x 10" and has a matte surface. Please everyone, write on the back of your pictures!

Tinted Postcard Dutch Girl with Basket 1912 (Spanish Postmark)
15 Tinted Postcard Dutch Girl with Basket 1912 (Spanish Postmark)
European Unknown 1912 Fine
This hand-tinted vintage postcard is in exceptionally nice condition despite the fact that it had been sent through the mail. Both the sender and the recipient were from Spain and the Spanish postage stamp is still present. The message is in Spanish and was sent to a woman named Pilar from her friend Carmen Garcia Carillo. I brushed off my high school Spanish a little and I think Carmen was saying that Christmas was coming and she would be spending it with friends and family. The Dutch girl on the cover is whimsical with her pert pose and basket, though I'm not sure what's hanging out of it! Card will arrive in plastic sleeve.

Tinted Postcard Earl Carrol's Vanities Showgirl
16 Tinted Postcard Earl Carrol's Vanities Showgirl
Los Angeles, California Earl Carroll's Vanities 1940's Very Good
Looks like Halloween judging by this 1940's era postcard featuring an Earl Carroll showgirl. I used to have an actual collection of this stuff (yeah, really) --programs, menus postcards etc.) from Carroll's days as a showman/producer/restauranteur who owned a rather racy L.A. nightspot (Earl Carroll's Vanities) on Sunset Blvd. known for its gorgeous performers. I knew a lot about him at the time, but all I remember now is that he died young (in his 50's) in a 1948 plane crash. The card has not been used and will arrive in a plastic sleeve. This one is may favorite due to its deeper color and most bizarre costume. I think it's got a Carmen Miranda vibe going on!

Victory Club Album Official Government Photographs (WWII)
20 Victory Club Album Official Government Photographs (WWII)
Unknown Location Hi-Speed Gas Stations circa 1942-43 hard cover Very Good Conoition
This album is so attractive and in very clean, nice condition. There's a little wear to the top edge at the front near the spine, but it's minor. The album was published following Pearl Harbor, so it dates around 1942 to 1943. The album contains fifty attractive blue tinted cards which children could paste in as they received them. I can't seem to find how they got them, but they appear to have been a Hi-Speed Gas Stations premium for customers' children who joined the Victory Club. This album shows all 50 photos, each of which takes an entire page. The album measures 9-3/4" across and 7-1/4" high.
