Beautiful annual magazine with much information on all sorts of fine textiles. I have another earlier issue, but this one grew significantly in size. Articles discuss Ming Mandarin Squares, two remarkable 15th century carpets from Spain, classic Greek textiles from Nymphaeum, practical definitions for three openwork techniques, traditional Berber weaving in Central Morocco, a Peruvian crossed-warp weave, and highstate caps of the Kongo and Mbundu peoples. This journal was issued annually so it contains organizational information, but is primarily focused on the preservation of fine textiles. There are two major articles here,both filled with a tremendous amount of information. They are: Mysteries of the Misplaced Malmuks (19 pages, 25 photos); and The Dry Cleaning of Fine and Fragile Textiles (13 pages, 4 photos). There's also news from the museum and a look at the Washington Hajji Baba, an organization for those interested in Oriental rugs. Magazine is clean and bright and measures 8-1.2" x 11" with a total of 48 pages.

I am delighted to have found these! I have about seven Jacquard coverlets, so was quite charmed when I found them. These are two very nice, clean exhibit catalogs measuring 8" x 11", both featuring the collection of John and Janet Simmermaker of Winnemac, Indiana. Both catalogs were printed to accompany displays at the Conner Prairie Pioneer Settlement. Wove in Indiana was for the December 1978 event. It has 28 counted pages with beautiful photos printed in blue ink, a common color used for Jacquard coverlets which are the product of a loom that used a series of cards (like IBM cards) to make the distinctive pictorial designs. The second catalog, Fancy Weaving, accompanied a display in 1981. This one has less pages (13) and less photos, but describes 78 coverlets in the collection. Information about the craft itself is in the larger book.

This self-published booklet in 1979 showcases various types of garments --the sarape with 14 tassels; the Quesquimitl, or the traditional Mexican Pancho; the sweater coat; the shirt wth diagonal sleeves; the smock, an influence from the peasant shirts of 18th century Eastern Europe; Japanse Kimono; the Kimono sweater; the Cona Coat with wide sleves and Ikat;the Choina Coat with an Inside Pocket;Ikat and Stripes -- sleevless jacket; Tapestry and Crochet tunic; and the Rainbow coat. All information is written in cursive -- very easy to read. there are also drawings. The booklet emasures 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and has 28 counted pages.

If you love weaving there are so many types of looms from small to large and all in Leclerc's catalogue.There's no date, but it seems to me that the cover shows the colors of the 70's. The catlaogue has 33 pages in which are general information relating to all Leclerc looms, plus info and photos of individual items. The company offered for parts and accessories, such as items for tapestries. The pages are clean and nice with just two prices written in ink next to the items.

Eleven of her cohorts have added articles to this lovely book. This is a lovely issue of the Arts of Asia. The focus is on the antiques of Lao Neua. Beautiful photographs in both black and white and color, all of which will love the creative textiles of the antiques weavings of the Lao Neua and the work of the Bankok artists. The magazine measures 9" x 11-3/4" nd has 152 pages printed on glossy paper.The magazine is clean and tightly bound with no labels. The only defect is mild creases at the outer corners of the front. All are flat.
