Group For Creative Meditation Tenth annual Transpersonal Conference March 18, 19, 1978
1 Group For Creative Meditation Tenth annual Transpersonal Conference March 18, 19, 1978
Ojai, Califonria Group for Creative Meditation 1978 card cover Very Good Condition
This is still a very relevant booklet as it provides not only the itinerary for the two day conference, but commentary from each speaker explaining the various topics which include: Holistic Meditation; Silence; and Synthesis of the Visible and Invisible. The text is dense, so there's a lot to read in this 36 page booklet. It measures 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and is very clean and tightly bound with no writing. The only fault is some toning around the edges of the cover. Otherwise crisp and nice.

Mind Magazine August, 1905 (New Thought. Metaphysics)
2 Mind Magazine August, 1905 (New Thought. Metaphysics)
Easton, Pennsylvania Upland Farms Alliance 1905 Volume XVI, No. 2 soft cover
This magazine is not seen too often. I bought a boxful a couple years ago, but have never seen any others before or since. It's focus is Christian metaphysics. Among the topics covered in this issue are: freedom, eternal progression, misdirected energy, success, the cause of poverty and distress, immorality, New Thought and Temperance problems, the miraculous element in the Bible and thought and astral light. The magazine is very clean and tightly bound. Unfortunately, the outer top corners of both front and back covers have snapped off (see photos). The spine also shows two areas where the spine strip is missing, but I repaired it with non-browning, almost invisible archival tape. Look at the pictures and see if you can see it. Magazine measures 6-1/2" x 9-1/2"

The Magic Story; Frederic Van Rensselaer Dey (New Thought 1908), Dey, Frederic Van Rensselaer
3 Dey, Frederic Van Rensselaer The Magic Story; Frederic Van Rensselaer Dey (New Thought 1908)
New York Frank E. Morrison 1908 later printing Hard cover
Have you ever read The Magic Story? I ran across it for the first time when I bought the inventory of a dealer who was moving on. I never saw it until I unpacked at home and thought it wasjust a book about magic, but it's not -- i's a magical story with a New Thought theme. Originally it was published in Success Magazine -- half in Dec. 1900 and the rest in January 1991. Had they had the internet back then it would have gone viral. As it was, the publisher went to press four times by the time this one rolled off the press. The little book measures 3-3/4" x 6-1/2" and has 53 clean, tightly bound pages. would make a nice little treusury in the to of a Christmas stocking. The book is a classic because it raised so many people up from the depths of despair.

Why Not Try God? (Mary Pickford, 1934), Pickford, Mary
9 Pickford, Mary Why Not Try God? (Mary Pickford, 1934)
New York H.C. Kinsey and Company Inc. 1934 First Edition Hard cover Very good condition No Dustjacket
Here's a little gift book -- a booklet in hard covers -- written by the actress Mary Pickford known as America's Sweetheart. Mary was born to a Catholic mother and a Methodist father and was a Catholic herself for a long time. But when she hit a bump in the road of life she turned to Christian Science. The book is a combination of traditional Christianity and New Thought. Its message is simple and comforting and sold a LOT of books. Book is small at 4-1/2"x6-3/4" with just 35 pages. The booklet shows a few freckles on the front cover, a little edge fading and a tiny crease to lower front corner. The book also has two pages which were cut short of the others (see photo)but does not compromise text.
