2 Greetings From Florida Postcard Beach and Snow Tichnor (274)
Boston, Mass. Tichnor Quality Views 1950's Very good
This colorful postcard is one of many Florida designs which contrast fun in the sun with the weather back home. I've never had this one before though. On the left it reads "Greetings From Florida. Enjoying nature at its best, sunny skies and balmy air." On the right it continues, "while you enjoy the cold crisp air, with snow and ice everywhere." Postcard Hotel Floridan Tampa
8 Postcard Hotel Floridan Tampa
Boston, Mass. Colourpicture Unknowm date; Late 1950's early 60's Very good Unused condition
Beautiful card using a process the publisher called "Shini Color" which gave it a glossy finish and saturated color. It has not been used, so no postmark to date it. The only clue is the two figure postal code -- the five digit zip code wasn't launched until 1963. The Floridan in Tampa was one of the states finest hotels with 19 floors, air conditioning, a splendid dining room and a beautiful cocktail lounge featuring nightly entertainment. Card is clean and nice with just a small loss of color to upper left corner. Will arrive in brand new plastic sleeve.

Postcard Sand In My Shoes Florida Tichnor 110-N (1951)
12 Postcard Sand In My Shoes Florida Tichnor 110-N (1951)
Boston, Mass. Tichnor Quality Views 1951 Fine
The colors are so vibrant in this crisp clean card which has never been written on or sent in the mail. I know it's from 1951 as it's actually dated. I had a card like this before with a poem called Sand In My Shoes, but this isn't it. This one says, "There is a saying in this land If your shoes contain its sand You will come back once more To its fair and sunny shore!" Well, if that's a truthful "crack" Its a cinch I'll soon be back 'Cause SO MUCH SAND is in MY PAIR I can PLANT POTATOES there! Card will arrive in plastic sleeve.
