The Charm of a Livable Home Kittinger Distinctive Furniture
3 The Charm of a Livable Home Kittinger Distinctive Furniture
Buffalo, New York Kittinger Distictive Furniture Pre-1966 soft cover Very good condition
Other than the flat creases to the lower front corner the rest of this booklet is pristine. It also comes with a letter from the company which explains that 700 pieces of beautifully made hardwood reproductions were available, the result of 65 years experience. There's also a two page spread showing the busy factory. The rest consists of very pretty roomscapes. Booklet measures 6" x 9" and has 16 pages. No date, but I did some sleuthing and found that in 1966 the company was sold for the first of many times.

It's Fun to Buy From Forslund's Portfolio of Quaint American Furniture (1958 catalog), Carl Forslund
5 Carl Forslund It's Fun to Buy From Forslund's Portfolio of Quaint American Furniture (1958 catalog)
Grand Rapids, Michigan Carl Forslund Inc. 1958 1958 Catalog Card cover Very good condition
This catalog joins a list of furniture manufacturers and sellers from the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. For decades they had dominated the furniture industry, but the items in this catalog are not the furniture of the 50's with its obvious modernity. Forslund's was a retro trip through colonial and rustic furniture and accessories including dishes, lamps, carpet, and more. But even within the retro look there were choices -- quaint American, Forslund farmstead, plantation pine, and American mahogany. The catalog measures 8-1/2" x 11" and has 104 pages.

Charles Eames Furniture From the Design Collection (1973), Drexler, Arthur
6 Drexler, Arthur Charles Eames Furniture From the Design Collection (1973)
New York city The Museum of Modern Art 1973 0870703145 / 9780870703140 Card cover Very good condition
This booklet is an important one for anyone interested in midcentury design and furniture. Even those who know little about it can often recognize an Eames chair. This booklet measures 7-1/2" x 10" and has 56 pages of photographs (color and black and white) plus a significant text. The only fault is one I came close to missing! The catalog is right beside me and it looks perfect. But in the "right" light you can see that someone used the cover as a desk and left behind light scratches. Otherwise it's pristine inside and out. The booklet was the first in a series of important groups of like items from the museum's holdings. Beautiful!

LH Auction Catalog No. 47: Furniture and Decorative Arts 2007, Leslie Hinderman
7 Leslie Hinderman LH Auction Catalog No. 47: Furniture and Decorative Arts 2007
Chicago Leslie Hinderman Auctioneers 2007 Card cover Fine, As New
I love the graphic design on this front cover. The LH stands for Leslie Hinderman who at one time conducted auctions live on TV at her auction house in Chicago..This auction was all about funiture and decorative arts and was held on Februrary 4-5, 2007. I'm always happy when the previous owner kept the list of realized prices inside the catalog. This one is right behind the front cover and has four pages. The catalog measures 8-1/2" x 11" with a total of 941 lots. The sections are these: 20th Century Decorative Arts including American and French Glass; Fine Silver; English and American Furniture and Decorative Arts; Continental Furniture and Decorative Arts; and Asian Works of Art, Rug and Carpets, and Ethnographic Art. Color pictures abound throughout

8 No author stated The Opulent Eye: Christie's Auction 19th Century Furniture, Sculpture, Works of Art, Ceramics and Carpets New York, October 21, 2015
New York city Christie's Auction 2015 October 21, 2015 Card cover Fine condition
Fabulous! From its beautiful cover to its pages of splendid treasures this isn't your mother's auction catalog. Before the 80's the catalog was much smaller and covered with a drab colored wrapper and small black and white photographs inside. All that's gone now because these catalogs are like coffee table books in full color with great descriptions. They're dream books and bigger too. This one measures 8" x 11" with 242 lots. I am so enamored of them that I bought twelve last Saturday!
