1940 Stevens Rifles & Shotguns Catalog No. 40 (with letter and price list)
1 1940 Stevens Rifles & Shotguns Catalog No. 40 (with letter and price list)
Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts Stevens Arms Company 1940 soft cover Catalog No. 40
Crisp clean catalog which defies its age and also comes with the original price list and a letter from the company directed to the consumer. There is no date, but it details its use of a product called Tenite which debuted in the 1940's. As the war escalated Tenite kept sporting goods on the market while wood was held for miltiary guns. The catalog measures 7-1/4" x 10-1/4" with 30 pages. Not often seen.

CVA Mountain Rifle & Kit Promotion Materials (1977)
5 CVA Mountain Rifle & Kit Promotion Materials (1977)
Haddam, Connecticut Connecticut Valley Arms Inc. 1977/78 Fine condition
Wow! This is a really nice find. Inside this envelope are many pristine, unused advertising products. The envelope was never mailed which is likely why everything inside is so perfect. The contents include the following: a letter to the dealer; a 1978 catalog replete with price sheet; a huge wall or window banner measuring 12" x 52"; and a counter card (10-1/2" x 14") affixed with a pad of tear-off coupons. None were used AND we have a second unused pad as well.

Gun and Cartridge Record (April, 1954)
6 Gun and Cartridge Record (April, 1954)
Chagrin Falls, Ohio Gun and Cartridge Inc. 1954 Vol. III Number 1 soft cover Very good
This one's a cross between a newspaper and a magazine. Retains the newspaper look, but the paper itself is much more substantial which is why it looks so nice. This is NOT the publication of the same name issued by Andy Palmer of Michigan. This one is harder to find and came from Ohio, though Palmer's is getting to be scarce too. The magazine measures 12"x18" and has 12 pages of dense text. It's clean, crisp and bright with just a few little tears which I have repaired with almost invisible archival tape. The articles are all short and cover a wide range of subjects, including an NRA meeting in Washington, Achtung Panzers, the Bacon shooting bench, Lt. Col. Fritz Clodius Skaar, Swiss uniforms 1898-1915 and much more. I have about a half dozen of these all from the 50's, so if you want a run-down on what's available use the contact button and I'll get back to you.

Chagrin Falls, Ohio Gun and Cartridge Record Inc. 1953 Vol. II No. 7 soft cover Very good
This one's a cross between a newspaper and a magazine. It's clean, crisp and bright with just some light toning to edges at spots and darkening at crease. The articles are all short and cover a wide range of subjects, including Micahel Corcoran, a colorful officer in the Civil War, the history of the cartridge, handloading, panzers, an Italian anti-personnel land mine and much more. There are also book reviews, classifieds, and current prices of various arms. I have about a half dozen of these all from the 50's, so if you want a run-down on what's available use the contact button and I'll get back to you.

National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association South Eastern Rendezvous 1982 (with Medallion)
11 National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association South Eastern Rendezvous 1982 (with Medallion)
Friendship, Indiana N.M.L.R.A. 1982 Soft cover Good condition
Crisp and clean as new with the keepsake medallion in it's original bag stapled to front corner. NMLRA is still conducting target shooting competitions using single bullet muzzleloaders. The competition is about sport of course, but it's also an endeavor for competitors to arrive in historical garb. The program measures 5-1/2" x 8-3/4"and has 16 pages. The only defect is the fate of many programs of all kinds -- a vertical fold right now the center. It's unusual to find the token.

Ontario Non-Resident Angling License 1955
12 Ontario Non-Resident Angling License 1955
Ontario, Canada Ontario Canada Department of Lands & Forests 1955 soft cover good
This 1955 fishing license was issued to a man from Parma, Ohio off to Canada on an "angling vacation." The license is a small booklet which contains pertinent details about the issuee, as well as Ontario "fishery regulations" and info on the Game and Fisheries Act. It shows browning on both front and back covers, as well as a loss of the top layer of paper at the bottom back corner (small). All fishing coupons are still intact, so Mr. Martin must not have been too lucky. The coupons are very specific, each for a different type of fish and each allowing for 5 or six of most species, but only one each for Atlantic salmon, quananiche, and sturgeon.Light blue pages very clean and tightly bound

13 Postcard Hunting Near Akron, Ohio Couple Kissing, Rifles Next to Fence (1910)
New York, N.Y. United Art Publishing Co. 1910 Very good Condition
I love this card! A young couple is caught kissing in the woods while both rifles are leaning against a fence -- though the young lady IS holding on to hers! The card is postmarked Akron, Ohio and was written on the divided back on September 6, 1910 by a hunter! His message reads, "Arrival all OK, but have not been hunting yet." It was sent to Lorain, Ohio. Card will arrive in brand new plastic sleeve.

Remington Breech Loading Arms and Ammunition 1875
14 Remington Breech Loading Arms and Ammunition 1875
Ilion, New York Citizen Campbell Press 1874 (reprinted here, no date) Reprint Card cover Very good condition

The booklet measures 5-1/4" x 7-1/2" and has 74 pages, plus 1874 prices at back of book. The illustrations are exceptional throughout with no skimping on ink. The booklet covers sporting and target rifles, shotguns, pistols, ammunition, gun barrels, mountings, and implements. The only fault is a shadow on the left corner of the front cover caused by the removal of a price sticker. Ruger Sporting Firearms Catalog (1984)
15 Ruger Sporting Firearms Catalog (1984)
Southport, Connecticut Sturn, Ruger & Company Inc. circa 1984 Soft cover Very good condition
There is no date in this catalog that I can find. Very often though there isnt a date by design so that the catalog can remain in action longer. A little research indicated however indicated that this was published around 1984. It's very nice and clean with just one fault -- a tiny puncture on the front cover which I almost missed. To keep it small I put a tiny piece of archival tape over it from the reverse side. The catalog measures 8-1/2" x 11 and has 27 pages. Among the types are M-77 Bolt-Action Rifle; No. 1 Single-shot Rifle; No. 1 Light Sporter; Mini-14 Semi Automatic Rifles; Over and Under Shotguns; New 77/22 Rimfore Rifle; Automatic Pistols; New Model Single-Actions; New Model Super Blackhawk and much more.

16 S.D. Myres Holsters Belts Art Leather (1944 Trade Catalog)
El Paso, Texas S.D. Myres 1944 soft cover Good-plus
Very uncommon trade catalog and very graphically appealing. It's clean inside and out with just light wear to edges of cover. The only real fault is the spine having been neatly and discretely repaired along its length with clear tape. The catalog is tightly bound throughout, measures 6"x9", and has 32 pages with additional products on reverse of back cover. Numerous photographs throughout and an unused order blank laid-in. Products include items for the border patrol, plus fancy holsters for many types of guns and knives, handcuff cases, belts, including "Buscadero" and cartridge belts, scabbards for rifles, silver buckles , and tooled leather bags, camera cases, and briefcases. Very good collectible.

18 Tackle Tricks With Wire (Netcraft Co. 1969)
Toledo, Ohio Netcraft Co. 1969 soft cover Fine
I was amazed to see this one was published in 1969, as it looks almost new. It's a very nice, clean booklet measuring 5-1/2"x8-1/2" with no names or writing and paper which retains its crispness. It's illustrated throughout with instructional drawings and black and white photos. Begins with basic instruction on wire winding and then offers 17 tricks of the trade, plus info on making all of the needed items yourself. 60 pages.

The American Rifleman Magazine July 1931 (Portsmouth, Ohio First Muzzle-loading Matches)
19 The American Rifleman Magazine July 1931 (Portsmouth, Ohio First Muzzle-loading Matches)
Washington D.C. National Rifle Association 1931 Vol. LXXIX, No.7 soft cover Good-plus
Magazine has been cleaned by me and a short area at top of spine has been repaired, also by me, with almost invisible archival tape to keep it from worsening. There is still some soil to cover, but overall this is a nice, tightly bound piece. It's a large one too measuring 9"x12". The big story to me was the launch of the first muzzleloading shooting matches at Portsmouth, Ohio, an event which also launched the rebirth of shooting black powder firearms as a sport. Other topics include woodchuck hunting, the Super-X. cartridges, the new Bausch & Lomb Spottong Scope, and much more. 52 pages
