Birthday Greetings Large Rose on Brown Background. Inset Sailboat Vintage Postcard
1 Birthday Greetings Large Rose on Brown Background. Inset Sailboat Vintage Postcard
Germany Unknown Very good
This one is so striking with its shiny surface and brown and gold background which sets off the small blue inset picture of the boats and the giant pink rose. The other nice feature is the small poem next to the leaves on the left which reads, "May happiness, peace, and love combine on this natal day of thine." The card is German and has a tiny number on the back which reads "ECC Serie 30". It's embossed and was not postally used. Pencilled on the address portion of the divided back is Miss S.C. Nundahl.

Postcard Birthday Greetings Mother of Pearl
2 Postcard Birthday Greetings Mother of Pearl
Unknown Location Unknown Publisher No date, but likely early 1900's Very Good Condition
What a pretty card this is. The box which contains the birthday greeting is actually a card pasted on the larger one, including the green bow. Inside the oval is inserted a beautiful touch of mother of pearl. The card is also nicely embossed at decorative corners and at the "frame" around the mother of pearl oval. There are two penciled names on the back, but they could be easily erased. Though card is not dated or postmarked, it's likely from the early 1900's due to the fact that it was printed in Germany. Card will arrive in a brand new plastic sleeve.

Postcard That Opens Best Birthday Wishes
3 Postcard That Opens Best Birthday Wishes
Published in Germany Unknown Publisher circa 1915 Fine condition
I do beleive that this is the prettiest postcard I have ever had. Not only does it have a ribbon and paper lattice-work on the front, but it also opens to reveal two pages. The first just reads Kind Regard, but the second one says, "May Fortune smile on you today, And may she never grow colder, And be beside you all the way, As each year sees you older." The card is in fine condition. It has writing on the divided back, but was not sent in the mail. On the left side is the date 1-2-15 and on the right is this: "To Mrs. Gumferd from Lillian and Emily Schreitle." Card will arrive in a brand new plastic sleeve.

Postcards Four Floral Birthday Greetings German (1909)
4 Postcards Four Floral Birthday Greetings German (1909)
Germany Unknown 1909 Very Good Condition
Very interesting how one person got four postcard greetings from four different well-wishers with cards that are variations of the same design -- yet here they are. All four are glossy as per design and very clean and attractive. Two have stamps on the back, but only one was postmarked which is how I found the date. The other two have messages written on the divided back, but no postage. The recipient was Josephine Hughes of Mansfield, Ohio. Each card will arrive in its own brand new plastic sleeve.

Roses In Vases -- Three Vintage Birthday Postcards 1909
5 Roses In Vases -- Three Vintage Birthday Postcards 1909
Germany Unknown 1909 Very Good
Beautiful embossed postcards, all with a birthday theme and all sent to the same recipient, Miss Josephine (Jo) Hughes of Mansfield, Ohio, by three different people. The colors are intense and glossy and the cards are all are clean and attractive. It seems that Miss Hughes was not well on her birthday in 1909 hence these messages, "Hope you will get better soon. And a Happy Birthday to you. Yours truly, Florence, Robinson"; "Wishing you 50 more birthdays, but more pleasantly situated than this one, Dell O." and "Dear Josephine, I hope this may be a happy birthday with the knowledge it will bring you of so many sympathizing friends. Tat" Very nice!

That Your Birthday Might Prove Bright and Happy Violets and Lake Vintage Postcard
6 That Your Birthday Might Prove Bright and Happy Violets and Lake Vintage Postcard
Germany Unknown Very Good
Violets were a much-loved theme on postcards from the early 1900's. This one uses them to surround a pastoral scene of trees and a lake. The printing on front reads, "That your Birthday may prove both bright and happy is my most earnest wish." Only the name Morris N. has been penciled on the divided back -- card was never sent, though it shows an erasure on the message side. Made in Germany and beautifully embossed. Small crease to one corner.
