1921 Guide To Historic Plymouth Illustrated (includes extra items)
1 1921 Guide To Historic Plymouth Illustrated (includes extra items)
Plymouth, Mass. Plymouth Tercentenary Committee 1921 Soft cover Very good
This guide book is filled with extra ephemera. Whenever I find goodies inside a book or booklet that are relevant to the topic I keep them all together. The guide book also has another extra plus -- penciled notes on a few pages, plus more handwritten notes on a sheet of Plymouth Rock House stationery, AND more on a map postcard of the Plymouth area. The guide measures 5-1/4" x 7-3/4" and is illustrated with black and white photos throughout. 96 pages and all items fit perfectly inside.

A Plan For Historic Preservation Charlestown, Massachusetts 1968
2 A Plan For Historic Preservation Charlestown, Massachusetts 1968
Charlestown, Massachusetts Charlestown Preservation Society Inc. 1968 Very Good Soft Cover Good-plus
I very much like old urban planning/historical preservation items, so of course had to have this one. It was likely printed for the exclusive use of the Charlestown Preservation Society, so there aren't too many kicking around. The booklet is clean and oversized at 9"x11" and spiral bound to lie flat. The plastic comb is completely intact. It's illustrated throughout with maps and black and white photographs. A very interesting retrospective of the town.

The Jacob Wirth German Restaurant opened its doors in Boston in 1949. This booklet was published in 1964 as a tribute. This catalog, a facsimile reprint, is spectacular with much product, many saturated pictures, and accompanied by descriptions. Catalog measures 7" x 10" and has 200 pages. An original is scarce and would price in three figures.

7 CVA Mountain Rifle & Kit Promotion Materials (1977)
Haddam, Connecticut Connecticut Valley Arms Inc. 1977/78 Fine condition
Wow! This is a really nice find. Inside this envelope are many pristine, unused advertising products. The envelope was never mailed which is likely why everything inside is so perfect. The contents include the following: a letter to the dealer; a 1978 catalog replete with price sheet; a huge wall or window banner measuring 12" x 52"; and a counter card (10-1/2" x 14") affixed with a pad of tear-off coupons. None were used AND we have a second unused pad as well.

Hebron Academy Hebron, Maine 1928 Catalog
10 Hebron Academy Hebron, Maine 1928 Catalog
Hebron, Maine Hebron Academy 1928 soft cover Good
As you can see, the cover shows dampstain, but fortunately it appears much less on the blue endpapers inside the catalog. I might have passed it by if I didn't know how hard it can be to find these old school catalogs which are interesting and also helpful with family genealogy. There is also some foxing on the photo fold-out at the front and at the back of the book -- anywhere that the paper is coated. The bulk of the catalog is NOT on coated paper though, so it is showing no foxing. This school is still in operation and traces its beginnings to the 19th century. The catalog provides the names of the Board of trustees, the calendar of school events, school history, the courses offered and what is expected of students, and a summation of available scholarships and how to get one. There's also a roster of boys from freshman through seniors. The catalog measures 6-1/2"x9-1/2" and is tightly bound with 62 pages. Also of interest is a letter inside to a Roland Leighton of Cleveland from a competing school, Bridgeton Academy, of Bridgton, Maine hoping to get him to enroll there.

Lake Deering Park Greetings From Portland, Maine
15 Lake Deering Park Greetings From Portland, Maine
Portland, Maine Hugh C. Leighton No Date Very Good
I think this is the prettiest card showing Deering Park in Portland, Maine I've ever seen. The white caption at the bottom left corner adds to the attractiveness. The card has not been used and is very crisp and clean with just a tiny wear spot at tip of both right corners and a small discoloration at back above stamp box. The stamp box at back is the clue that it's an older card, as it states, "One cent for United States and Island Possessions, Cuba, Canada and Mexico. Two Cents for Foreign." Card will arrive in brand new plastic sleeve.
