All magazines have clean pages made from very nice rag paper with no writing and no creases. The Theosophical Society was founded by Madame Helena Blavatsky, the first Russian woman to be naturalized as an American citizen. She began the group in 1875 with other like-minded friends and eventually moved to India where she started yet another branch. By the 1930's the society was going strong, despite some splintering after Madame Blavatsky's death in 1891. In fact, it was even popular in Ireland. Devotees of James Joyce's novel, Finnegan's Wake, will recognize Theosophical Society influences in the book. Among the topics here are cyclic laws in biology, prayer wheels, the importance of having a life purpose, psychic and noetic action, and a two-part series on Blavatsky herself. Not often seen in a full run.
