Such an elegant magazine this is and with its original scarce dustjacket which though not much more than a plain brown wrapper, will arrive in mylar to keep it as nice as it is now. Though not perfect, the yapped edges are not missing any pieces and the only other fault of note is two small vee-shaped chips to bottom corners of spine. Magazine cover is beautiful and pages are clean and well bound. Magazine measures 8"x11" and is illustrated throughout with pictures, some black and white and others tinted either blue or a brownish orange. The major theme of this issue is the centenary of American steam navigation, so articles concern Robert Fulton as an artist, steamship navigation, and the first collection of steamboat paintings in the world. But there is also a map of New York drawn in the early 1800's and more, including an article about an American in the British Army.
