Beautiful travel guide to the luxury of the French Line's star ship "Liberte" which was purchased to replace the Normandie. It had previously been the Europa, but was bought due to its high speed turbine engine for service to the French Line. However, two disasters -- breaking away from her moorings and crashing into a wrecked ship and later a fire caused a delay of five years -- but when Liberte finally made her debut she wowed them! Guide shows art renderings of all the many amenities, plus inset photographs. The whole theme is one of a dreamy Valentine to the "good life." Measures 8-1/4"x10-1/2" and has 32 pages including a centerfold of the ship in full color.Clean and nice -- no date, but circa 1950's.
