I have been after this book forever. You don't see it often and when you do there are either no dolls or just a couple. But FINALLY I got one with pristine pages, all tightly bound, and all six dolls in excellent condition. The book was published initially in 1945 when WWII was raging and European parents were sending their children to America for the duration. The text and bright, colorful art tell their story and the dolls are in the pocket provided for safekeeping in the middle of the book. As you can see, the covers show edge wear and some spots where there has been a loss of color at back, but the spiral binding is holding and that's good because many have pulled away. Book measure 8"x10" and has 23 counted pages. Dolls represent Ronald from England, Marie from France, Ivan from Russia, Katrinka from Holland, Johan from Switzerland, and Helga from Norway, all dressed in native costume. Each doll also has it's own slot on its own page.
