It pains me to buy things that aren't as nice as I would like, but this is a rare and expensive book which was confined to just 400 copies. I saw four online priced from $350-$850. The book I have has a textured brown cover with wear at edges and at top and bottom of spine. The map on the back of the front board was torn and taped by a previous owner, the gutter has been reglued at one time, and the front free endpaper, though very clean, is smaller than the rest of the pages.(see pictures) On the bright side the text is tightly bound with 139 clean pages, and beautiful art, comic art, and a map. Topics include Samuel Coykendall, the Ulster and Delaware Railroad, Young's Gap and Hillig's Castle, the acid factory. Lew Beach, fishing for trout, the natural history of Alder Lake, Mill Brook Ridge, dear hunting season at Alder Lake, and more. Book measures 6-1/2" x 9-1/2".
