I have bought many Apertures, but I've never had one from the 70's. I have no idea why this issue's here, but somehow it landed in one of my three storage closets this morning. I was aware of Minor White who was a photographer and an iconic editor for Aperture magazine, but I got something else today -- another surprise. I was certain that Minor White was a woman. Surprise -- he wasn't! Anyway, the magazine is a bit smaller at 8-1/4" x 9-3/4" than the Apertures of today. There's a lot to read here though. There's a big article -- 27 pages long -- titled Walt Whitman and Thomas Eakins; A Poet's and A Painter's Camera-Eye. The magazine is clean and tightly bound with no writing. The only defect is some toning to the edges.
