This is not a book -- it's an exhibition portfolio designed to tell the story of the Erie Canal and its life in canal boats and other historic items. There's a map, photos, and art on the 50 prints. Each print is numbered which is very helpful too.. The only defect here is the slipcase which has a small bit of wear to the top of the opening and some sunning to the back. Overall it's a very nice item. It, along with six other such portfolios, were published in the early 1970's. I also have "The Lower East Side" (of New York City).
