Joan Walsh Anglund remains a favorite, both for her simple poems and charming illustrations. This little gift book is a collection of small poems and thoughts, one per page, but with no illustration other than that on the dustjacket. I was surprised by that, but it's still a pretty little gift. The only fault is a new blank bookplate. I put it in because the original one had fallen off and left a shadow of itself on the endpaper. I think the new one looks very pretty though. The book measures 4-3/4" x 8" and has 63 pages. Will arrive in brand new mylar cover.

Joan Walsh Anglund was a big hit in the 60's. Her little books were given as gifts, and all sorts of items were available with her art. Even Eleanor Roosevelt liked her! I've never seen one with a dustjacket though. Usually they're bound in laminated boards. This one sports green cloth and still has its jacket whcih I placed in brand new mylar. Joan Walsh Anglund was a huge hit in the 60's and 70's and still has a following today. I have sold several of her sweet little books and have a couple on here at this writing. This, however, is not a book. It's a paper doll with 12 outfits none of which have been cut. The dolls and her clothes are in great shape, the scissors is still there, and so is the stand. Joan Anglund was a big deal in the 1960's -- I remember both buying and being given her sweet little books. This one comes along twenty years later, but is still vintage Anglund. The book measures 4-1/2" x 7-3/4" and has 63 pages. The dustjacket will arrive in brand new mylar to keep it as beautiful as it is now. A lovely little gift.
