This is a very scarce item, expensively created. This is a sumptuous keepsake published to commemorate the coronation of King George VI. The magazine is huge measuring 9-1/2 x 14-1/4" and comes with a sturdy black slipcase to keep it nice. The pages are clean and tightly bound, but the front cover's top staple pulled away from the front cover only. The other staple is intact. Many historical photographs and drawings show in both black and white and sepia. But what's really eye-catching is the art -- produced in saturated color that jumps off the page. So beautiful that it's hard to pick just five photos to show you! Ships in the U.S. for $2 ... View more info

Condition: Good condition, good condition of ephemera

If there is a Cody on your family tree this is an interesting genealogical reference which traces the descendants of Philip and Martha Cody of Beverly, Massachusetts 1698. The book measures 6" x 8-3/4" and is clean and tightly bound with some helpful penciled information here and there. Only fault is a rectangular brown area on first page due to an old crumbling newspaper clipping which I removed. The rest of the items are good and I have ironed them flat and sequestered them in a plastic bag. These include a Sunday bulletin from Trinity Methodist Church in Lakeland, Florida where the Cody fa... View more info

I had one of these the first year I became a seller of books and ephemera, but I never saw another one until now -- eighteen years! It's not that it's rare, it's just that somehow I didn't. Anyway, this is a beautiful, expensively designed booklet which originally in 1946 was published to designate the synagogue as a national historic site. It is also the oldest synagogue building in the United States. There are several large photographs and much information in 65 pages. The booklet measures 9-1/4" x 12-1/2". The only fault is some toning to spine area. Otherwise it's pristine inside and out. View more info

I bought this a couple years ago, but didn't list it because I was uncertain about the cording which binds it. Is it the real thing, or is it not? I'm inclined to say no and yet I still can't find a comparable. I've looked countless times, but it never comes up. The holes accomodate the thick cording easily and there is no sign of enlargment, so here it is! The booklet measures 9-3/4" x 12-1/2" with 64 pages printed on quality coated paper. Many very good photos and lots of information about the small town of Logan, Ohio located in Hocking County. Very handsome. View more info

Very nice, clean booklet commemorating the dedication of the new Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Only fault is a flat crease to lower front corner of cover. Oddly, there is no reference to the exact town in Florida where it's located, but there is a photo of the presiding Bishop of Orlando, Thomas J. Grady. This is an exceptional keepsake thanks to the many photographs, including some in full color, plus lots of photos of the parishioners in action. There's also history and a roster of the patrons who helped make the new church possible. As always with these momentos, there are ads at the back of ... View more info

I had one of these years ago and it had the same strike-out on the upper left front cover over the original price. I wonder if it's come back to me. Anyway, this is a gorgeous souvenir with BLUE pages. I know they don't look like it in the pictures, but they really are blue. There's much to read in this booklet-- first of all, the itinerary, and then on to the history and a look at the individual ships, plus info on the the Sun-Fish Sail-In and activities such as the New York Times Sail Regatta and the Shriners coming in on the water. This one has much to say in 326 pages, plus interesting advertising for hotels, perfume, office machines, clothing and much more in the back section. The best ads though are in the front with full color pictures -- especially the ad for Rolex watches. The annual measures 8-1/4" x 11". The yapped edges have been trimmed due to many small tears. The overhangs were scissored fairly well, but there is one little glitch to the outer side of the front cover. I also repaired two small tears with archival tape, one to front, and one to back. It's unusual to find a commemoration program in a hard cover binding, but here we have one. It's quite interesting, not only for the list of festivities, but the commemoration of the 113th founding of the Muskingum Academy also. To add to the value there each chapter offers an historic background for various places and entities. There are many very nice historical photographs, especially in the chapter about Marietta during the Civil War.
