Price: $18.00

Publisher: Pleasant Hill, Kentucky, Beckett Paper Company: 1976

Condition: Very Fine

This is in amazing condition -- so crisp and clean it feels like new and looks like new. It even retains it's outer envelope as well as the three extra items which accompany the booklet. They are a stencil for Shaker tomatoes, a fold-out advertisement for the famous Shaker seeds, and a small booklet which explains how and why the whole package was designed and manufactured. I have seen the booklet before, but never with all its accoutrements. The booklet is wonderful --color art and text about the entrepreneurial skills of the Shakers. The "handwritten" area you can see in the picture is a sam... View more info

Here we have six unused ink blotters advertising under two names. The Woodall Stenographic Office blotters were all printed in 1921. At that time they advertised stenographic work, mimeographing and multigraphing. The other two advertised Woodall Letter Service and both of those were printed in 1929. They maintained the same services, but added some new ones too --mimeoscoping and printing. All blotters measures 3"x6". I'm not sure where this company was from, but it retained the same phone number which began with a Wabash prefix followed by four numbers. View more info

Very nice clean program with just two very tiny tears to top edge of front cover. It says on the bottom of that cover that it's a delegate's memo book and as such offers blank pages for notes on one side of the pages and information on the other. This delegate whose name is at the top -- Richard Wysocki -- did not write in it. In this case it would have been even better if he had. Nevertheless, early union material is always a great find. This program measures 4" x 9-1/4". View more info

I haven't seen these quirky little magazines since I first started in business 19 years ago. So I'm pretty tickled to find them again. Houghton just celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2015. To celebrate they printed a special issue of the popular magazine which was closed down in 2008. These 13 I have now are nice and clean, all identical in format and design -- just different accent colors. They're small in size measuring just 4"x7" and are billed as a publication "for people who like to do their own thinking." Topics range from products made by the company and other interesting things that... View more info

Oh, the memories of Snyder's Magic Shop located at 216 West Superior Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio. Kids of all ages weighed the fantastic tricks to find the one worthy of a week's allowance. The catalog was produced by E-Z Magic, but there is no place of origin in the catalog. The E-Z Company is still in business and is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2016. They produced the catalog, but the dealer was Snyder. The catalog measures 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and has 72 pages with illustrations and descriptions of products. There's a vertical crease which I improved by ironing and some time in the book p... View more info

I bought this photo by itself, but it could be important to someone whose family worked in the office at the Ohio Farmers' Insurance Company in Ohio. On a sunny May day in 1942 the entire office force lined up for this photo which actually shows the faces of everyone. But he great surprise was the back of it upon which someone wrote down every single person's name. The glossy black and white photo measures 9-3/4"" across 8" tall. There is a small orange stain at the lower left hand side (see photo). View more info

Very nice, clean, tightly bound publication with a strong focus on the technology of the electric fountains. It's very clean and tightly bound with two small tears to side edge of front cover which I repaired on the back with small pieces of archival tape which doesn't brown. Booklet is not often seen. It's amazing how a simple configuration of gun powder tins and a muzzle-loading rifle above them can be so stunning, but stunning it is. The colors are warm and inviting and the various labels catch the eye.The poster measures 17" x 22", a nice size for framing which doesn't require a lot of wall space. There's no date, though I did try to find one with no luck. I bought the poster rolled which will make it easy to ship and can later be flattened at a frame shop. I have a book press, but it's not big enough or I would do it. Altogether a handsome scene! View more info

I love when a nice ephemera item is hiding extras on the same subject. I bought the main booklet and -- surprise! -- I got two extra small booklets about kitchens and entrances and a letter from the company. Home builders knew that after the war there would be many people, especially veterans, yearning for a home of their own. The building trade started early to feed the pent-up desire, but by the time this advertising came out the end of the war was only a year away -- 1945. The yellow pamphlets measures 3-1/2" x 6-1/4". Wow! This is a really nice find. Inside this envelope are many pristine, unused advertising products. The envelope was never mailed which is likely why everything inside is so perfect. The contents include the following: a letter to the dealer; a 1978 catalog replete with price sheet; a huge wall or window banner measuring 12" x 52"; and a counter card (10-1/2" x 14") affixed with a pad of tear-off coupons. None were used AND we have a second unused pad as well. View more info

There's lots to read about in this over-sized magazine, but I think the most provactive is the story about Saks Fifth Avenue, which to this day keeps the population fashionable. Other topics of interest are: The Industrial South; Nunn-Bush and labor; the adventures of Del Monte; energy sources, including solar; and a look at the American Medical Association. Magazine is big at 11-1/2" x 14" with 174 pages. It's clean inside and out with just minor spots of edge wear to cover, but overall is really very nice. These two items are from two different companies, but I got them together and, as always, I keep them that way. The booklet is from Sherwin Williams and advertises its products throughout the instructions on how to paint all parts of your house and do it right. There are also nice color illustrations, but there is no date. I would guess given the colors it dates from the 50's. The Glidden Dramatone color samples are dated 1961. There's a crease on the cover, but the swatches are clean as a whistle and tightly bound. View more info
