This is a cool thing, whether you are an alum yourself or are looking for an ancestor who was a member. Looks like this was quite a bash, as brothers descended on the Hotel Hollendan for a five day gala -- December 27th to the 31st. It's interesting to note that Zeta Beta Tau was the first Jewish fraternity in the U.S.. It's not sectarian anymore, but it still was at the time of this event. The brochure measures 5-1/2"x8" and pulls out to reveal five printed page on the front and five on the back. Members came from City College of New York, Columbia, Pennsylvania. Cornell, Boston, (Case)Weste... View more info

By: N/A

Price: $14.00

Publisher: Cleveland, Ohio, The Chemical Rubber Company: circa 1934

Seller ID: 0308

Condition: Fine

Really nice advertising brochure with no date, so it required some sleuthing. What did the trick was the ad for a book, Adventures with A Microscope by Julian D. Corington. The book was published in 1934, so the brochure was likely issued in '34 or thereabouts. There is no mailing label on it and no fault of note. Closed it measures 7-1/2"x10-1/2", but folds out to a whopping 28" with scientific products pictured on both sides. View more info

Cute little boy all spiffed up on First Communion Day. Sadly, he is lost to time -- no name, just the clue from the photography studio that he was from the Cleveland area. The knickers date him to the early 1900's. On the table next to him he's holding his little black prayer book which was the emblem of the occasion. Very handsome composition in sepia. The folder which turns into an easel for display is clean and seemingly unused. The only fault is browning to the deckled edges of the paper mounted beind the mat. The image itself measures 4"x6" and is exquisitely "framed" in a textured metall... View more info

A very handsome catalog sent to would-be students. Of course it has all the information needed to determine what courses and majors are offered, classes to be taken etc., as well as the glitzy parade of color photos of student work which is most impressive. The really good part though is the full page black and white photographs of students plying their various arts. Each is full page and and most inviting. Catalog measures 8-1/2"x10-3/4" and has 88 pages, plus laid-in unused application. Clean and nice inside and out with just a few spots of isolated edge wear to front cover. View more info

Beautiful as new planning guide used to design Cleveland's fabulous Playhouse Square entertainment area. Yes, it's book-sized, but it was produced for temporary use which qualifies it as ephemera. It's a big one measuring 8-3/4" tall and 13" wide, bound with a plastic comb. The book has 136 pages with black and white photographs, drawings, and maps. An interesting study of urban planning. These items came together so I am leaving them together, as both are mementos of the last Cleveland Indians baseball season to be held at the old Cleveland Stadium. The magazine measures 8-1/2"x11" and still retains its unused scorecards for the final series at Cleveland Stadium. It's a glossy magazine with lots of photos and Cleveland baseball history. Magazine is clean and bright with just one tear to lower front corner which was repaired on reverse side with tape by former owner. The print measures 8"x11" also and shows likenesses of Andre Thornton, Mel Harder, Bob Feller and Lou Boudreau. ... View more info
