This over-sized magazine is very attractive. I bought a whole box full, all of which are nice. Some are already on here, but I will be happy to look through my inventory for a specific issue from the 1890's to the first 15 years of the 1900's. The magazine measures 11-1/2" x 16" with 33 pages. There's a little bit of toning around the edges of the cover, but the pages are white. In this issue there's lots to read. Here's some examples -- Fiction; a symposium titled "What Constitutes A Good Husband" with six women sharing; a bio on novelist Mary Hartwell Catherwood who was born in Ohio, but wro... Beautifully kept magazine with a lovely cover touched with color. This is a particularly good issue, as there is an article about Harriet Beecher Stowe, author of the famous novel Uncle Tom's Cabin, in her 85th year. There's also a poem, Cassander, by James Whitcomb Riley and an article by the Honorable Benjamin Harrison titled This Country of Ours -- Pardoning Power and Impeachment. There's a lot to read here and ideas for Egyptian embroidery designs, as well as an article about running a big hotel and more. Great ads too, especially for bicycles, as this was the era when everyone wanted on... View more info

Beautiful, pristine, magazine with jut a bit of rusting to staples I bought a lot of these at auction and all are in this wonderful condition. I was excited to see a literary brand name that I recognized in this issue too -- that of William Dean Howell, a novelist, playwright and literary critic of his time. In this issue he has the first story which is titled "The Coast of Bohemia." Other stories discuss making Battenburg lace; a Valentine revival with many ideas for celebrating the day; the division of family income; making a skirt; fashion; the new mould crochet; and a New England miracle ... This oversized magazine (11-1/2" x 16-1/2") is gorgeous and so gently kept it's amazing. The little sticker you see on the front is the mailing label. The magazine is lovely -- and tightly bound with no names or writing. There's information on decorating church, house and table; tips on how to have an old-fashioned Christmas; a Christmas story titled The Winnipeg Wolf by the popular Ernest Thompson Seton; songs; book recommendations for Christmas for all ages;...
