Pretty in peach is this lovely young woman seated at a tea table alone -- or is she? Her expression may say otherwise! The details and the hand tinted dress, tea things, lamp and flowers add so much charm. This card was sent in the mail from Vianen, but is still quite lovely with no real wear. The divided back has a lengthy message and was sent to someone in Europe. View More...
Fabulous! Not only are the coffeepots and coffee makers gorgeous, but they also show how our favorite small appliance began. The pictures are huge and in full color and there are also mall pictures of people enjoying the brew. The booklet is huge at 10-2/2" x 14" and has 66 pages. The last pcitures are from the late 1990's. There are no names or writing and binding is sound. The only faults are the corner creases to front cover. I glued the paper on the back of the cover, put them in the book press, and added small white Meto stickers to reenforce the crease. View More...
Book is clean and without defect. It also retains its original box which is likewise pristine. The book is written in both Chinese and English, each page unfolding the elegant and graceful tea culture in both languages. The art is lovely and is seen on each page. But perhaps the most interesting are the Chinese postal stamps which echo the tea culture theme. They appear to be under plastic, but you can open them up and hold them and put them back. There are a total of eight. Book measures 7-1/2" x 10-1/2 with 24 pages. Book is easily put back into the box. Would make a very charming gift. View More...
I love gift books and this one is attractive, interesting, and in beautiful condition. Coffee lovers will enjoy the story of the rise of the English coffee shop, despite the protest of "several thousands of buxom good-women, languishing in extremity of want." In 1674 they printed a broadside that read "The Womens' Petition Against Coffee Representing to Publick Consideration the Grand Inconveniences accruing to their SEX from the exclusive use of that drying, enfeebling LIQUOR " The mens' response is included. The book measures 5-1/2" x 8" with 32 pages. Illustrated with color art throughout. ... View More...

Beautiful booklet in hard cover, gently cared for with no defects of note. The book tells the story of the author's 1973 trip to China. Her husband accompanied her and took the many gorgeous all color photographs. Mao was in frail health at that time and it was much more exotic to visit Communist China than it is to visit the country today. Book measures 5-2.4" x 8-3/4" and has 98 pages. It's also protected with a clear plastic jacket. [CHINA]. View More...
