Love this one! A full color view of an early tourist ride in Manitou Springs, Colorado. The "incline car", as they called it, was built in 1907 to support the construction of a hydroelectric plant and its waterline. When that was done a Dr. Brumbach bought it as a tourist attraction. It was a steep 16 minute ride through the glories of the Colorado mountains. Sadly, it had to be abandoned after a rock slide in 1990. The card is clean and nice, but does show tiny spote of light edge wear and a small chip from the tip of the lower corner. The divided back has this message, "I am still in Colorad... View More...
Shiny silver paper enhances the art and photograph on the front cover of this oversized and nicely made souvenir booklet extolling the wonders of the state. There is no date, but the address on the card laid-in is Nashville 3, Tennessee -- pre-zip code. Booklet is oblong and measures 8-1/2" x 11-1/2" with 38 counted pages. Lots of photos in both color and black and white covering camping, mountains, fishing, swimming, boating, hunting, historical sites, hiking, handicrafts, hiking, and museums, including the Atomic Energy Museum. Very nice program for the races held at the Cumberland Municipal Airport May, 15, 16, 17, 1964. The event included the national championship and regional races. Previous owner penciled in notes for some races which could be easily removed, but you may not want to, as it shows who won etc. Program measures 8-1/2" x 11" and has 20 pages including a blank one for notes which is unused. Includes auto related advertising. Faults are these: a tear to bottom of spine which I repaired with non-browning archival tape on both sides and a small stain to one page. View More...
Very nice booklet for an event which took place at the Sheraton Cleveland Hotel, Saturday, February 21, 1976. The booklet measures 5-1/2" tall and 8" wide with 68 clean tightly bound pages. The program lists a social hour, followed by dinner, a performance by "Jump", a Modern Dance Club from Chicago, and then dancing for everyone to Paul Burton's Orchestra. There are also photos and bios of the debutantes of which there were eight, plus photos of members of the Chicago Modern Dance Club. The rest of the booklet covers facts about various Czech and Slovak organizations and a gallery of Czech an... View More...
This was an annual calendar designed and published by Dance Magazine for distribution to entities such as the School of Cleveland Ballet which could have their name printed on the final page for their own advertising. I have seen these before, but always missing at least one page. This one has all 12 and all are pristine. Each month shows a photo of a famous dancer along with a quote from each. The 1978 calendar aimed the spotlight on Alexandra Danilova, Natalia Makorova, Peter Martins, Edward Vilella, Vaslav Nijinsky, Louis Peres, Cynthia Gregory, Margot Fonteyn, Erik Bruhn, Martha Graham, Mi... Surprisingly scarce program published in honor of the 25th Independence Day Dance hosted by the North American Association of Venezuela. Clearly, this was a big event, as the ads in the program are largely national -- Chrysler has the back cover and Helena Rubenstein cosmetics has the flip side. Others inside include Ponds, Sears, Chevrolet, Elizabeth Arden and many more. The program is large at 9"x12" and has much information about the event itself, the liberation of Venezuela, and the ties that bind Venezuela to the United States. Illustrated with black and white photographs. The program is... View More...
Great graphic on this vintage Rose Bowl parade program dated January 1, 1951. The University of Michigan Wolverines tussled with The Oregon Beavers that day and the Wolverines not only took the game handily with a score of 34 to 7, but Wolverine full-back Mel Anthony was named Rose Bowl player of the Game. The program is almost a magazine. It measures 8-1/2"x11" and has 98 pages, all tightly bound. there is one small tear to outer back edge, but I mended it with non-browning almost invisible archival tape. Fun gift for a Rose Bowl fan. What a handsome souvenir of King George the Sixth on his Coronation. The event was not only for the above, but the event was backed by donations for a National Theatre. There is also an article of Westminster Abbey; another for The Shrine of England's Soul. Also covered wereBuckingham Palace, and Heralds and Pursuivants. There are alsothe list of events at the big event at Royal Albert Hall. Very nice. View More...
This is a rather scarce travel guide from the Golden Age of Travel. It's very clean and tightly bound with a small bit of isolated edge wear and a small crease at lower spine. Measurements are 6"x9-1/4" with 48 pages. Many wonderful black and white photographs of sites to see, but also a picture of the ship, the S.S. Samaria. The itinerary shows that the cruise began from New York on Feb. 1, 1930 and ended up at New York on April 4th. In between passengers visited Cuba, Panama, Peru, Chile, Uruguay, the Argentine Republic, Brazil, Barbados, Martinique, and the Virgin Islands. Only 280 passen... View More...
Howell, Michigan is known for its beautiful residential architecture -- many lovely vintage homes, enough to fill seven different walking tours. The booklet is illustrated with small drawings and offers information of each home or building -- its design, date, ownership etc.. Booklet measures 5-1/2" x 8" and has 103 pages including index. Booklet is spiral bound and is quite nice with the exception of a few small tears to bottom of spiral which I repaired with small pieces of archival tape. The guide has no names or writing and is very clean. View More...

The cards themselves appear unused inside their box. The box opens by sliding off the cover which shows a shadow from a former price sticker at front and some light rubbing to edges at back (see photos). The cards show one picture per suit on the number cards and color pictures on all jacks, queens and kings. The set retains its small brochure which explains the history of the color cards. Box measures 5" x 4" -- cards themselves measure 2-1/2"" x 3-1/2". View More...
I love the way this book looks so serious and academic on the outside and all about fun inside. The pages are a rainbow of color --yellow, orange, green, pink, blue and red.The instructions are at the front and the different plane parts follow. You can make eight different flying planes. Book measures 8-1/2" x 12" and is clean and bright with no defects. View More...
Interview Magazine is a fun read. In addition to lots of close-up looks at famous people from all walks of life, it's also filled with gorgeous ads for high-end products. If you love graphic art you will love those ads. This issue of course has an interview with Catherine Oxenberg who is best known for her role on the TV show Dynasty and her portrayal of Princess Diana, but also these interviews too: The Kennedy Cousins (dynasty); Samantha Fox, Kathryn Harrold, Little Nell, William J. Casey (Washignton), Athol Fugard (theatre), Monica Vitti and Alberto Sordi (film), and Michael Musto (night l... View More...
This is the coolest travel guide I've seen in a long time. It's bound in cloth on boards, measures 5-1/2" x 10", and has 200 pages. The color image on the front cover is perfect and resembles the lovely colors of the sky and mountans -- the Grand Canyon. Inside there are road maps, photos, landmarks, resorts, towns, points of interest and detailed information on every part of THE WONDERLAND. View More...
Very nice publication which is printed completely in two colors -- orange and white. The book is clean and tightly bound, but there is some wrinkling and a few glued tears to the spine. Otherwise it's crisp and clean. The book measures 8-1/4" x 11-1/2" and has 230 pages to showcase the largest group of Arab artists in the world. There are photographs and art on the edges of the pages, but the book primarily explains the festival and its prize winners. It even has color wheels which show the activity of Facebook and Twitter fans. Very nice -- even the exterior page edges are light orange. [ FI... View More...
This is one of two of these exposition catalogs showcasing art from Dubai -- this one is from 2014 and the other is from 2015. Both are on here now. The cover is beautiful with different colors on both back and front. What I love about this one is the many colors of the pages. The book is clean and tightly bound with no spine crease and no names or writing. The book primarily explains the festival and its prize winners. The book measures 8-1/4" x 11-1/2" and has 218 pages to introduce the largest group of Arab artists in the world. There are photographs throughout. View More...
This is such a charming catalog, published to accompany an antiques and art exhibit on Heinz Ocean Pier in Atlantic City, "the seadside home of the 57 varieties." I'm surprised that there is no date, but I certainly can't find one. The clothes, however, offer a good clue. There were 162 items on display, many of Asian origin, but not all. The guide book measures 4-1/2" x 7-1/2" and has a few black and white photographs throughhout. The one I showed is the only damaged one -- loss of upper corner which does not impinge on the integrity of the image. Two wonderful color scenes inside -- one at t... View More...
ITEM # 2457 An Eddie Murphy classic in need of a collector! This is truly a fun find. Not only are there 15 glossy black and white stills from the 1984 film, some with two images per page, and all with explanatory notes bearing Paramount Pictures name and logo, but there's a also a great handbook which tells the story. It measures 8"x10" and has 36 pages of info, including cast of characters and actors, technical credits, background notes for the script and bios of the cast and those responsible for the finished product. All items clean and nice -- small corner creases and a few small spots ... View More...
