These are so beautiful and so clean. The prints themselves are ready for framing. All are printed on the white ground and the cut-out folds over to "frame" it. Descriptions are printed on the back of each. Each of the twelves prints was created by a different artist. The artists are: Morechai Levanon, Moshe Chauski, Jona Mach, Isaac Amitai, Pinhas Litvinovsky, Isidor Aschheim, Anna Ticho, Mordechai Ardon, Shemuel Katz, Jacob Pins, Jacob Steinhart and Reuven Rubin. All prints measure 9-1/2"x13". Cover art is tipped-on as you can see from the first picture. Only fault is a tiny abrasion to cover... View more info

Publisher: New York, Ambassade De France: 1976

Condition: Fine in VG folder

This is a very beautiful offering which I have never previously seen. It was published by the Ambassade de France to commemorate 1776, the year of the first alliance between our two countries. In addition to the 22 prints there are facsimile reproductions of the first and last pages of the Treaty of Alliance 1778. The folder is plain and shows one spine tear that has been taped and two reglued small areas, but the best parts of all, the prints, are pristine. All are printed on a glossy paper of good weight and measure 10-1/2"x13-1/2". Some include portraits of important figures of the America... View more info

This is a lovely print rendered by Ethel Franklin Botts, a student of the great Howard Pyle, as was Jessie Wilcox Smith. Her style is a bit different though with a hint of a collage look at times. She was very prolific and an important illustrator of the day. I don't know exactly what children's book this print derives from, but I do know that it's an illustration for a James Whitcomb Riley poem. The book was published in 1906. Clearly, this was a page of the book - I purchased it from a long time dealer who salvaged plates from disbound and damaged children'books. He was NOT a breaker. The p... View more info

Beautiful watercolor print bursting with color and activity. I purchased it from a longtime dealer who saved plates from damage books. I had a hard time figuring out who the artist was though because he only printed the name on one print! But the style is so unique it was easy to see that the others were British artist, Frank Brangwyn's, work too. The print is tipped-in on the paper rather than being printed on it and measures in its entirety 9-1/2"x11-1/2". The image size is 6-3/4"x9". Plate is clean on both sides and ready to frame. This is a lovely print which captures a sweet moment of children enjoying the treats brought by an old lady. It was rendered by Ethel Franklin Botts, a student of the great Howard Pyle, as was Jessie Wilcox Smith. Her style is a bit different though with a hint of a collage look at times. If you love the Three Stooges this is a great image. What's perplexing is there's absolutely zero information about its publishing history. The artist's name is not even incorporated in the design. I bought it from a collector who had it rolled in its original mailer, but the tube offers no clues either. The print measures 21-1/2" tall and 27-1/2" wide including narrow white margin on all sides. Striking graphic. View more info

Condition: Fine condition

I bought this at an estate sale along with a small stack of other attractive prints depicting various landmarks of Omaha, Nebraska. The odd thing is there's no information other than the site and its origin. The scene shows horses and carriages and a streetcar at the side of the road, so it appears to depict the early 1900's. The image is of the New York Life building and is printed on heavy cardstock. It measures 7-1/2"x9" and is clean and nice on both sides. View more info

I bought this at an estate sale along with a small stack of other attractive prints depicting various landmarks of Omaha, Nebraska. The odd thing is there's no information other than the site and its origin. The churches pictured here are identified beneath them beginning at the top left and moving clockwise -- Trinity Cathedral, Central United Presbyterian, Kountze Memorial and First Baptist. The print is on heavy card stock and is clean and attractive. Only fault is a tiny loss of paper at the lower right corner, but this would not be seen once framed. The print measures 7-3/4"x9". I love when I can find a portfolio of prints and ALL the prints are in it. This is the fruit of a lucky day because here we have a giant portfolio measuring 20" across x 16" tall and all six maps are accounted for. The maps are very clean with no tears and are beautiful with the lavish color of the periods. The portfolio itself had a few small tears, all of which I have repaired with almost invisible, non-browning archival tape at back. The maps are as follows: The Map of the World by N.J. Visscher who portrayed California as an island (17th c.); Map of Europe by Mercator from the famous Merca... View more info

I bought this at an estate sale along with a small stack of other attractive prints depicting various landmarks of Omaha, Nebraska. The odd thing is there's no information other than the name of the site and the city. The print is older and shows just a hint of toning to bottom margin, but is otherwise without fault. Measures 9-1/4" across and 7-3/4" tall. Would be very attractive framed. Other views of Omaha available. This one depicts the Union Railway Building. The people seem to still be using horses and buggies for transportation, so this helps date it. View more info

Very handsome print, one of a portfolio of various scenes from the Chicago Exposition. This one depicts the Transportation Exhibit's famous Golden Door. The print is explained on the reverse side. The reason it was such a big hit is that a single arch, appeared to be several retreating ones. it was also embellished with carvings, bas reliefs, and mural paintings. The print with margins measures 8-/2" x 12" with the image measuring 6" x 9" Very clean and nice with a flat superficial crease to upper left corner which would not be seen after framing. Beautiful print which is still tipped-in on the page of the book. This means that only the left hand edge was pasted. The rest can be turned back like turning a page. I think this page came from the book, "East O' The Sun and West O' The Moon" with art by Kay Neilsen. Neilsen's name and the date 1914 is located at the bottom right hand corner and is very readable. The caption beneath it says, "He took a long, long farewell of the Princess, and when he got out of the Giant's door, there stood the Wolf waiting for him." This is an interesting booklet about Canadian indigenous art from the Baker Lake area of Ottawa. It began with the Sanavik co-operative which endeavored to create a print program. Unfortunately it didn't catch fire right away, so instead of producing huge numbers of art prints they decided to choose carefully and confine each to a limited edition of no more than 50 copies. The booklet measures 8-1/2" x 11" and has 39 pristine pages. The only fault is some light sunning to spine. There are real photographs of the area and its people, both black and white aand color art, and photos of the artist... View more info

Mughal Miniatures are a marriage of Indian and Persian painting. They are filled with life, action, and gorgeous colors, but despite the title these six beauties are not miniatures. They may have started out that way, but each print in this portfolio measures 10-1/2 x 14-3/4". There is also a booklet of the same size explaining the various works and their artists. It's amazing that this item remained intact since it came out in 1946 and then was given as a Christmas gift in 1981. There is a small inscription on the reverse side of the front cover which reads, "From Konstanze, Christmas, 1981." Everything is clean and nice with just one small spot of foxing to two prints and a light freckling to the folder. The prints are on paper and measure 7-1/2" x 10".
