Beautiful, color-saturated cards. The one depicting the huge tree is from a different publisher than the other two, so there is a slight difference in margin and back coloration. The tree is an arbor vitae estimated to be 1000 years old. There is also one showing the Lace Water Falls and one of the natural bridge itself, all from the Natural Bridge area in Virginia. None of the cards have been postally used, but one has a name in the address box, but no other writing. All are bright and crisp with sharp corners. Each will arrive in its own plastic sleeve. Seven beautiful glossy, full color postcards showing the interior and exterior of the home of American poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow; a depiction of his sons, Charles and Ernest; and of his wife, the former Frances Elizabeth Appleton. The house was located at 105 Brattle Street, Cambridge Mass. and Longfellow lived in it from 1837 to 1882. This is as good as a postcard gets -- very crisp and clean with sharp corners and no names or writing on the divided back. It does have a one cent stamp affixed, but was never mailed. The hotel opened in 1926, so if it were an early card it would have had a 2 cent stamp as prices raised briefly from 1925 to 1928. The hotel, a 22 story building, was named after President William Howard Taft and located on 7th Avenue at 50th Street. The Taft was Time Square's largest hotel with 2000 rooms.
