At the front of the book there is an invitation to the big event. The book measures 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and has 41 pages. Some of the art is drawings in black and white and some in color. In the end though there WAS a program inside after all! The book is clean with just soem light sunning to the spine. View more info

I bought this sheet music knowing nothing about Patty Stair except that she lived in Cleveland. As it turned out, she published her six songs: If I Could Take Your Tears, Love; Madrigal; Love Song; When Daisies Bloom; Daphne's Cheeks;and Slumber Song. I googled Patty and found some info, but I also heard singers bringing her music to later generations. Patty was born in 1869 and died in 1926. She studied music at Hathaway Brown School for girls and taught organ at the Cleveland Conservatory of Music. She was also the first woman member of the Ohio Chapter of American Guild of Organists. Very cool to find jazz great, Dave Frishberg's, first book and in such nice condition! Tightly bound, no writing to pages and no spine crease. Measures 9"x12" and has 95 pages. Frishberg began his career as a jazz pianist, but during the 70's began adding vocals and songwriting to his repertoire. "My gimmick," he told audiences, "is that I write songs for which there is no use." What he meant was that when he started songwriting he tried cranking out what he hoped would be the stuff of which hit parades were made. Unfortunately, it never happened. It wasn't until he did what came naturally an... View more info

Handsome souvenir for the performance of Shakespeare's The Tempest produced by Margaret Webster. It's not a program, but an informative booklet about the play itself, its characters, and the actors and actresses who took on the roles. The inside is printed in blue ink of which tiny little dots of it landed here and there. It had also been folded in half vertically, the bane of most theater programs and souvenirs, but it's lying flat again thanks to the book press. There is also a light dampstain to lower corner at open side of cover, but it's not too visible. The booklet measures 8-1/2" x 11"... View more info
