The Groundwork of the Leschetizky Method (Piano, 1905)

By: Malwine Bre

Price: $16.00

Publisher: New York, G Schirmer: 1905

Seller ID: 1918

Condition: Very good

Very handsome and substantial piano book, oversized at 9 x 12-1/2" with 99 pages of text, plus an additional 21 pages at back. What makes this one a standout is the instructional photographs -- large close-up shots showing finger placements which make it easier to learn. There are 47 in all, each a view of Leschetizky's own hand. The book has penciled notes on most pages which could be erased if desired, but I have learned over the years that music books can in fact be enhanced by notes. Only other fault is a few small isolated spots of edge wear along edges. Book ships for $2 in the U.S. OVE... View more info

Huge concert program! Doesn't state where or when it was published but the previous owner provided a clue to where it ended up. At the lower front corner of the first page someone wrote Aril 2, 1982 UD Arena -- i.e. University of Dayton, Ohio. The program measures a whopping 11" across x 13-1/4" tall. Amongst the goodies awaiting are interviews with each band member, a montage of photos of each, and photos of the guys with other celebrities. There's also an unused form bound in for joining the Oak Ridge Boys Fan Club and/or The Oak Ridge Boys Stars for Children. Beautiful collectible with jus... View more info

Price: $18.00

Publisher: Salzburg, Deutsche Bank and others: 2006

Seller ID: 2298

Condition: Very Good condition

This is a very fine quality program celebrating the 250th birthday of Wolfgang Mozart in Salzburg. The subtle pictorial card cover of the program itself is made of acetate through which you can faintly see the portrait of Mozart on the cover. There is a small chip at the top of the jacket's spine which is somewhat sharp, so I have placed it the jacket in a mylar cover. You can easily take it off if you don't want it. This was a huge event which went on for days and was aired internationally. The soprano was American opera singer, Renee Fleming, whose bio appears along with the other performers... View more info

The photos are great in this program and there are a lot of photos -- 25 in black and white and also gorgeous ones in color. The program is clean, but it does show some minor wear. Sheet Music Alla Admirably Dedicated to the Famous Artiste and Metro Star Mms. Alla Nazimova (1919)

By: Owen, Anita

Price: $30.00

Publisher: New York, The Jones Music Co.: 1919

Condition: Finecondition

Beautiful graphic on this sheet music which is not often seen. Anita Owen wrote both the lyrics and the music and dedicated it to Russian emigre, Alla Nazimova, known for her roles on Broadway and to a lesser degree her silent movies. Nazimova also briefly ran a hotel in Hollywood which she called The Garden of Alla. Rumor has it that Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Dorothy Parker, Hepburn and more enjoyed the hi-jinks. I don't usually buy sheet music, but this one is like new and the graphic, if framed, would make a nice statement on the wall. It measures 9" x 12" View more info
