The Chemical Rubber Company Brochure Cleveland, Ohio (1934)

By: N/A

Price: $14.00

Publisher: Cleveland, Ohio, The Chemical Rubber Company: circa 1934

Seller ID: 0308

Condition: Fine

Really nice advertising brochure with no date, so it required some sleuthing. What did the trick was the ad for a book, Adventures with A Microscope by Julian D. Corington. The book was published in 1934, so the brochure was likely issued in '34 or thereabouts. There is no mailing label on it and no fault of note. Closed it measures 7-1/2"x10-1/2", but folds out to a whopping 28" with scientific products pictured on both sides. View more info

There's also a section on new technology. Magazine is clean and bright with just a smal... View more info

I must admit that I had no idea what magnetic declination was when I bought this booklet. The mystery of it intrigued me and I'm forever attracted to huge maps in small booklets. As it turns out, magnetic declination refers to the angle on the horizontal plane between magnetic north (the direction in which the north end of a compass needle points), and true north (the direction along a meridian towards the geographic North Pole). Apparently this angle varies depending on one's position on the Earth's surface, and over time. So this booklet charts it in the U.S. in 1935. The large fold-out map ... View more info

It's not common to find an example of this early technical magazine and especially not in such nice condition.
