Price: $4.95

Publisher: The Regiments of Midshipmen: Unknown

Seller ID: 0354

Condition: Fine

Beautiful, unused Christmas card fashioned from especially heavy card stock for use by the Regiment of Midshipmen. There is no date, but I am pretty sure that the image on the face depicts the chapel which may well date it from the 60's. It measures 6"x7x1/4" and opens to reveal a color painting of the U.S. frigate Constitution. View more info

What a handsome booklet this is! It's oversized at 8-1/4"x10-3/4" and has 58 pages. Beautiful drawings and a lengthy text explore marine technology through two seafaring journeys four and a third centuries apart. The material is divided into two parts -- part one covers the Victoria and part two The Triton. The entire booklet is nice, but the showpiece is the color fold-out map at the center of the booklet(see second photo). It's clean and tightly bound with no names or ... View more info

Price: $14.95

Publisher: Unknown Location, C.W. Platt: 1905

Beautiful card, hand colored and dated 1905. Beneath the printed words on the face a previous owner wrote "On board August the 8th, 1906." The card has not been used for mailing or for messages. The only fault is some toning to the back because it was laid-in against a scrapbook page, but was never pasted. The Arrow took passengers to the islands from 1895 to 1922 when it burned in the dock at Put-In-Bay. View more info

A very handsome color view of Cunard White Star Line's steamer the R.L.M. Berengaria. This passenger liner was originally built for the Hamburg American Lines in 1912 and christened the S.S. Imperator. During WWI it saw a small bit of service as the U.S.S. Imperator where it was put to work transporting troops home from the European theatre. After the war it was given to Cunard as part of war reparations and from then on operated as the flagship Berengaria for the fina... View more info

Beautiful watercolor print with incredible detail and beautiful muted colors I purchased it from a longtime dealer who saved plates from damaged books. I had a hard time figuring out who the artist was though because he only printed the name on one print! But the style is so unique it was easy to see that the others were also British artist, Frank Brangwyn's, work. The print is tipped-in on the paper rather than being printed on it and measures in its entirety 9-1/2"x11-... View more info

Beautiful travel guide to the luxury of the French Line's star ship "Liberte" which was purchased to replace the Normandie. It had previously been the Europa, but was bought due to its high speed turbine engine for service to the French Line. However, two disasters -- breaking away from her moorings and crashing into a wrecked ship and later a fire caused a delay of five years -- but when Liberte finally made her debut she wowed them! Guide shows art renderings of all the... View more info

Very clean, attractive linen postcard postally unused and with no names or writing. This is a white border card and its stamp box calls for a one cent stamp which seems to indicate that it derives from pre-1928 when the stamp cost rose to two cents for postcards. At any rate, it's very clean and nice and will arrive in a plastic sleeve. View more info

Nice postcard of the popular Logan County tour boat, Evelyn, filled to the brim with sightseers. The card's photo shows an attractive greenish tint and is captioned at the bottom "Evelyn Boat, Russells Point, Ohio." The bottom margin shows evidence of writing in pencil which seems to have faded almost away. The reverse pencil is also fading, but I can make out this much: Dear Mother, I am having a grand time. We went fishing and I caught a little fish. I've been over to... View more info

Beautiful cover art featuring the lovely actress, Ann Sheridan. The magazine is not too common and is clean and tightly bound, though it does have a few faults. I repaired the spine at top and bottom and a few tiny edge tears at back with almost invisible archival tape which is holding well. The only ther is a bit of brownign to lower back cover (see photo). Magazien is huge at 10-1/2" x 13-1/2". Story topics include Ann sheridan, FDR and poll tax, windjammers, guerilla ... View more info

This card offers very few clues to its age, but it's an early one due to it muted colors and hand colored look. It was also printed in Germany which was common for many quality cards during the period. Whenever you see the little round logo with its trio of girls you know it's a Hopf. Sometimes it's brightly colored, but this one matches the scene. Card has not ben used and is clean and nice. Will arrive in a brand new plastic sleeve. View more info

This black and white card is very clean and nice with no writing on the divided back and no postmark. I did, however, find one just like it with a postmark dated 1922. The Henrick Hudson was put into service in 1906 at the cost of one million dollars. It was quite the thing in its day -- it even had art on its interior walls. The boat was a side wheel steamer licensed to carry 5500 passengers from New York City to Albany and that it did until 1951 when it was not only di... View more info
