What a charming item this is -- a calendar comprised of two pieces -- the large one which is a print of Glamis Castle of Dundee, former home of the Queen Mum, mounted on cardboard with a paper mat and measuring an ample 6-1/2" x8". The image is in full-color, as is the cameo portrait of the Her Majesty in the upper right corner. The ribbon at the top is for hanging. Suspended, also with the same ribbon, is a small calendar with all pages intact. This measures 3"x4". The calendar was given as a gift as per inscription at back which reads "Glamis Castle is only 5 miles from Longacre. Wishing yo... View More...
This was an annual calendar designed and published by Dance Magazine for distribution to entities such as the School of Cleveland Ballet which could have their name printed on the final page for their own advertising. I have seen these before, but always missing at least one page. This one has all 12 and all are pristine. Each month shows a photo of a famous dancer along with a quote from each. The 1978 calendar aimed the spotlight on Alexandra Danilova, Natalia Makorova, Peter Martins, Edward Vilella, Vaslav Nijinsky, Louis Peres, Cynthia Gregory, Margot Fonteyn, Erik Bruhn, Martha Graham, Mi... Very nice, clean catalog with no writing or creasing to pages. It appears to have been put away and never hung up. When closed the catalog measures 10-1/2" x 13-3/4" which means it will double that on the wall. Every month spotlights a pretty young woman and along with her pictures are product pictures and information about them. View More...
If you're a calendar collector, or someone who appreciates the beauty of vintage advertising art this one's special. The calendar is not that old at 24, but there aren't many available. It's a big one measuring 12" x 18" and begins with January 1981 and ends with December 1981. All art is in full color and even the calendar itself is colorful. All images are replicas of old posters. The artists include many famous people. Here's the list: Howard Chandler Christie, Norman Rockwell (x2), N.C. Wyeth, Jes Schlaidjer, Lawrence Wilbur, Amos Sewell, Emmett Oldson, J.M. Clement, John Gould, Dagmar Wil... View More...
The cover of this historic calendar looks like a plain Jane, but wait 'til you see inside. Every month, beginning with October 1975 through 1976, is accompanied by a large sepia photograph showing vintage scenes each of which are explained. There are no names or writing on any month and everything is clean and bright. Here are the topics in their entirety: the First Loudonville Free Street Fair; Ashland County's first court in Jeromesville in 1846; Five historic churches; the Savannah Male and Female Academy; The cast of H.M.S. Pinafore at the Ashland Opera House; First Tavern West of the All... View More...
This calendar is absolutely pristine. It's one of those where the home office prints the names of the various agencies who in turn use it to reward their customers with an annual gift. There was only one image back then, but as always it's a nice one, especially if you are a doll collector. The calendar is big at 11" x 17" and all of the tear off month pages are intact. Very nice! The calendar will ship flat for $2 in the U.S.. View More...
Crisp and clean as new with no names or writing. Chuck Ayers rendered the green tinted pages with the accompanying descriptions written by Russ Mussara, both of whom worked for the Akron Beacon Journal. Each month has its own picture of a place somewhere in Summit County. Here's what you'll see: St. Vincent Cemetery on W. Market St. at Merriman Rd.; School children going home from the Stone School in downtown Akron (originally built in 1840);Tuscora Park at Tuscarawas Ave. & 5th St. in Barberton; the renovation of Herrick House at Hale Farm; Eastwood Ave. under the tracks at the CSX Railroad ... About two decades ago when I began my business I had one of these calendars for 1951. I thought it was charming, but never again did I see one until recently. It's in nice condition too and no one pulled off any of the small monthly pages. The cover photo is printed in sepia and the big photos inside are in black and white. The cover shot is of Westminster Abbey seen from St.James's Park. Inside there are no notations or circling on any of the dates. Very nice! Would make a nice gift for someone born that year. Downton Abbey brought us beautiful places, charming and not-so-charming people, humor, pathos, tears, suprises and the yearning for the next episode. This desk calendar has never been used -- no writing on any of the pages. The calendar measures 6-1/2" x 9" and is filled with full page color portraits of the cast. A beautiful souvenir of our favorite Sunday night serial. View More...
This perpetual calendar is the handiwork of American photographer, Elizabeth Kleinveld, and the Royal Delft company. The theme is "Tulips and Spouts" though many other flowers are also added. As for the spouts, they are found in numbers on vases which is a throwback to the Dutch Golden Age. What text there is on this piece is offered in both English and Dutch. The calendar is very clean with no writing and has a small spiral binding at top which includes a wire hanger. Calendar measures 6-3/4" x 11-3/4" and is very nice. View More...
These little German calendars are exquisitely rendered -- the art is so charming. It's in the GERMAN LANGUAGE, but is so pleasing to the eye that art trumps comprehensiion for non-German speakers. It's a small, very thin book which measures 5-1/2"x7-3/4" and is illustrated with tiny illustrations throughout. The pages aren;t numbered, but I counted 22. View More...

At first glance I thought this was some sort of funeral commemoration, but it's not. It's a calendar for 1914 with all twelve pages intact in the calendar itself at the bottom edge. You'd think a more colorful and cheerful design would see its way through Valentine's Day, Easter, the Fourth of July, and Christmas, among other holidays, but not. The old man is warning the little girl to be careful of the waves, which is good, but the surroundings are gloomy. These old calendars are hard to find though. This one measures 10-1/4" x 14". As you can see, the edges have darkened and there is a loss... View More...
Crisp beautiful calendar with wonderful historic photographs for each month of the year. No names or writing -- just pristine pages throughout. Only fault is a few tiny errant dots to cover. The scenes depicted are as follows: the Perkins Mansion, the Hower House, the Aetna Mill, the Ohio Canal in Akron, the north Howard Street merchants, Akron fire fighters celebrating the city's 50th birthday, the replica canal boat built for the city's centennial in 1925; a 1903 view of the east side of Main Street; harvest time in Springfield Township; Palmer's Akron Band on parade in 1910; the Goodyear-Ze... When I had the chance I bought two of these huge 1995 calendars. Every one has a picture, be it painting or photography, and all but one are in color. There are the twelve months from 1995, but also one for December of 1994, and one for January of 1996. The places include the square at Chagrin Falls, John Carroll University, Christmas on Cleveland Square, the lobby of Severance Hall, The Cleveland Stadium, Put-in-Bay and more. As I mentioned, this is a BIG calendar. Imagine the beauty of Cleveland in a format of 19-1/2" x 24" with no names or writing. PLEASE NOTE: This item will incur additio... View More...
I've had lots of calendars, but never one like this. It came to me tied at the top with a beige ribbon that literally fell apart from age when I attempted to tie it more securely. Insted I retied it Japanese style with a piece of cording, though wished I had either blue, or beige instead of white. It's easy to do though, so if you want to change it again you can. The calendar pages show the dates in week intervals at the bottom of the pages and topped by huge quotes from George Eliot's novels including Daniel Deronda, Middlemarch (of course), Adam Bede and Silas Marner. Calendar measures 6"x9"... View More...
The Wyeth Helga pictures make an attractive calendar which may explain why it was never been written on, not even so much as a circle on a date. Each month shows a different picture in full color and retains an order form for other items from the publisher. Closed the calendar measures 10-1/2" high and 14" wide. The detail in the cover painting is incredible -- whisps of hair, the threads of the sweater, the pores on her skin -- all visible. View More...

Very interesting thematic desk calendar issued annually by the Ohioana Library. This one is excellent with no writing to any of the pages designed to keep track of obligations. Scattered throughout are color and black and white art, plus black and white photographs showing the various ethnic groups that made up the Buckeye State in 1977. The calendar also records important dates in Ohio history which adds to the interest. The book is clean and bright, spiral bound to lie flat, and measures 6-1/4"x8" with 120 pages. View More...
