Very nice, clean booklet, oversized at 8-1/2"x11" published for the 10th annual Rabbi Louis Feinberg Memorial Lecture given March 3, 1987. Only fault is small crease to lower corner. The author at this time was the Ludwig Rosenberger Professor of Jewish History and Civilization at the University of Chicago. An interesting look at the conversion of Christians to Judaism during this period. The author did extensive research in old Hebrew texts and documents, especially from the Cairo Genezah Includes a discussion of rabbinic Judaism implanted in Khazaria. 49 pages. Not often seen. Very scarce oversized booklet, quality printed on coated paper with many photographs. Plain khaki colored cover with embossed title. Clean as a whistle inside and out. Measures 9"x11-1/2" and has 38 pages. No date, but it's clearly from the late 1930's to the 40's, as that's when the The American Board of Missions to the Jews was the largest Christian mission proselytizing to Jews in America. They were set up on Throop Avenue in Brooklyn (though also had satellite agencies in other states) due to the enormous Jewish population and the regular arrivals of Jewish refugees. This book is colorful and fun. Each page asks a question about Jewish culture and religion. The answer is hidden behind the flap. There is only one defect, a tear on the back of a flap which I mended with archival tape which is almost invisible. The book measures 8-1/2" x 8-1/4" and has 15 questions and answers. View more info

The pictures of these books are delightful -- crayon colors and a sense of movement. The Hanukkah one is the older, but the author and the illustrator, worked on both. The books are clean and nice with just one flaw --a crease to the lower back cover of Simchat Torah. I will reenforce it with archival tape which hardy shows. The books measure 8-1/2" x 11" and together 57 counted pages. View more info
