This is really special, as it has all its items intact and is clean as a whistle nestled inside its original glassine envelope. The envelope reads A Souvenir of Your Flight With Eastern Air Lines. Inside is an unused postcard showing off the New-Type Constellation made famous by Eastern and promoted by the great aviator Eddie Rickenbacker who also worked for Eastern. Other items include two luggage labels, a card notifying passengers that Eastern Air Line Timetables were available for the asking, a Western Union leaflet advertising telegram services aboard the plan, and a leaflet asking custom... Wonderful oversized aviation magazine in excellent condition. Other than a small bit of wear to spine at middle section which does not compromise the integrity of the binding, and a few tiny edge creases at back, this one is really nice. Great vintage ads and lots of articles. Includes an article by Willie Ley entitled From Storch to ME 163. Other topics include tandem wings, camoflage models (miniatures), a mobile control tower, Northrop P-61 "Black Widow" and the Knight Twister. Beautiful color centerfold of the the Kingcobra. No mailing label. View More...
I love the way this book looks so serious and academic on the outside and all about fun inside. The pages are a rainbow of color --yellow, orange, green, pink, blue and red.The instructions are at the front and the different plane parts follow. You can make eight different flying planes. Book measures 8-1/2" x 12" and is clean and bright with no defects. View More...
Very nice, tightly bound magazine with an intact spine strip and and very clean pages and cover. The portrait on the front is that of Rear Admiral George F. Hussey, Jr., who during WWII presided over Naval Ordnance. The front of the magazine contains many ads, some of which incorporate much significant information about the products. Among the article topics are these: recoilless rifles; recoil elimination; radar in the past, present and future; rockets for aircraft; the Earthquake Bomb, The Shooting Star, Lockheed's P-80 jet-propelled plane; the atomic bomb. Oran to Naples; and Britain's B... View More...
Crisp and clean inside and out. This is a very nice program with a surprise inside -- a color print that reads at the bottom "Air Force. A great way of life." On the reverse side is stamped USAF Recruiting Office Berea, Ohio. At the top is handwritten: To my Air Show buddy, Mr. Macy. Love, Richard." This program is quality printed on coated paper throughout and measures 8-1/2"x11" with 66 pages and many photos, ads, and informational articles. Cleveland is the only city to have had an annual air show of this size since 1929. Among the highlights were the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the U.S. ... View More...
Good, clean brochure not often seen. Tightly bound AND SIGNED and Inscribed by company president, Thomas L. Fawick, next to his photo inside the front cover which reads as follows: "To my good friend Gregg Phillips with best wishes. Sincerely, Thos, L. Fawick Oct, 20, 1957." The brochure itself precedes this date, as there is much emphasis on the company's contribution to the war effort. Measures 8-3/4"x11-1/4". Illustrated with color art and black and white photographs and technical drawings. Unpaginated, but I counted 20 pages. View More...
Tightly bound and clean, but not perfect. It's mostly a used look that's the problem -- no tears or chips, no writing, no creasing etc.. there is some rusting to the staples, but I'll change them out for new. It still deserves a new home. The booklet has some really good photography, plus text, and a complete chronology and an introduction to the crew. It's very visual and is colored in sepia. It also measures 8-1/2" x 11" and has 32 counted planting the U.S. flag on Antarctica and then back home again. View More...
Inside Ohio magazine was in its second year of publication when this issue was produced. It's not seen too much which is too bad because it has a lot to offer. There are color paintings, photographs and articles about many aspects of the state. Here, for example, the topcs include the iron men, tool builders, a history in old newspapers starting in the late 1700's, the Ohio auto industry sub-assembly line, Ohio's advanced electric power production, education, science, transportation, communication, and the beloved Wright Brothers and aviation. Magazine measures 8-1/2" x 11-1/2" and has 114 pag... View More...
Two crisp, clean issues of a technical aviation magazine. Former owner's last name is written at the top of the outer front corner of two, and one has a couple light stains to bottom front cover -- otherwise without fault. The magazines measure 8-1/2"x11". Both have technical charts and drawings, but one also shows black and white photographs (see second picture). Among the articles are these: The Longitudinal Stability of Elastic Swept Wings at Supersonic Speed; A Study of the Response of an Airplane Landing Gear Using the Differential Analyzer; and The Flow Over a Wedge Profile at Mach Numbe... Here's a pair of Goodyear blimp items from Akron, Ohio, neither of which is dated. The postcard has a divided back, has not been used, and measures an oversized 5-1/2"x9". It's also a Plastichrome which is desirable to some collectors. It pictures the Goodyear air dock, the world's largest buildign with no interior supports. The photograph is an 8"x10" real photo of the blimp itself stamped with a number on the back. Together they're pretty nice! View More...
Wow! This packet is bursting at the seams with all the things provided to the National Airlines passenger back in 1952. The outer booklet advertises a new feature of the DC-6 plane -- the ability to wire flowers from the sky thanks to the Florists' Telegraph Delivery Association. The booklet itself offers info on flights to New York, Florida, Cuba, California, Texas, New Orleans, Detroit and Washington. Other items are a seat saver, a Hertz rent-a-car brochure, a card advertising in-flight rservations, a colorful brochure about Havana trips (National has been flying theresince 1946), a brochur... Very nice clean program of the ever popular Cleveland national air races at Burke Lakefront Airport August 31, September 1,& 2, 1968.Charles Tracy, then aviation writer for the Plain Dealer, begins the program with an article about aviation's unsung heroes. A highlight of the show is also featured -- precision flight demonstrations by Bob Hoover flying the F-51 Mustang. There are also Formula One races, ladies stockplane races, Ed Mahler in J-3 aerobatics, the Golden Knights parachuters and Thunderbird maneuvers. A nice collectible in great condition. View More...
I bought these items together some years ago and they just now surfaced in crisp clean condition. The photos taken at night were hard to photpgraph, but they are much nicer than they appear due to the glossy surface. They are all crisp and clean, including back, but there is no informatio on photographer. Each back is stamped with a number and there is a bit of residue from a strip of paper which may have been helpful. The photos measure 8-1/4" x 10-1/2". The booklet is wonderful -- very attractive in blue and silver throughout with much information in 20 pages. There is no date, but it's at l... View More...
I haven't been aware of this postcard set, but I knew a good thing when I found it! There are ten postcards printed with black and white photographs and a blue "frame" on each. The cards are a tad larger than usual, measuring 4-1/2" x 6". All are crisp and clean with no writing or postal stampings. Port Columbus opened on July 8, 1929 with Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone and Edsel Ford in the audience. The folders (there are two) are crisp and clean also, but there is a tiny tear to the right side of the main folder. I used a very tiny piece of archival tape on the reverse side and all is well. A ... View More...
Very nice program save one small light stain to center of front cover, otherwise most attractive and tightly bound. There is much information about the art and science of launching a balloon, photographing balloons, ballooning Q & A and more. There's also a directory of each balloon which participated in the eventreplete with descriptions and photographs. Program measures 8-1/2" x 11" with 24 counted pages. View More...
