I have seen these cards individually, but never in this orignal set. All twelve are there and all are clean without any marks or writing. The folder is made of card stock which has a suede-like feel and is designed with a cut-out oval on the front to show part of the first card which is a scene of the Butchart residence. All scenes are hand colored and produced in real photogravure. The folder measures 4" high and 6-1.4" across. ORDERS OUTSIDE THE U.S. ARE WELCOME. PLEASE CONTACT US WITH DESTINATION AND WE WILL PROVIDE AN EXACT SHIPPING COST. View More...
This is an interesting booklet about Canadian indigenous art from the Baker Lake area of Ottawa. It began with the Sanavik co-operative which endeavored to create a print program. Unfortunately it didn't catch fire right away, so instead of producing huge numbers of art prints they decided to choose carefully and confine each to a limited edition of no more than 50 copies. The booklet measures 8-1/2" x 11" and has 39 pristine pages. The only fault is some light sunning to spine. There are real photographs of the area and its people, both black and white aand color art, and photos of the artist... View More...

Very handsome 1939 menu for passengers on the Canadian National Railway September 6, 1939. This was a banner year for Canada with the arrival of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth who in May of '39 took a Royal Tour of the country stopping at both small towns and large cities to the delight of fervent crowds. To celebrate the Royal Tour the two Canadian railways -- the Canadian National and the Canadian Pacific --each worked hard to outdo the other in providing half the cars for the Royal Train. Of course by the time this menu was printed the hoopla was all over, but the cover shows The Nat... View More...
Very nice, extensive travel guide to seeing Quebec by car. In addition to photos to entice travelers, there's much info on 55 routes, each with its own special charms. There are also two fold-out maps, both in excellent condition. The smaller one is of Quebec, the larger one shows the individual drives the driver can take. Guide measures 6" x 9" and has 294 pages. Book is tightly bound with only defect being some light creasing to corners -- overall it's nice. And yet there's one more good thing -- a brochure for motoring to Gaspe National Park and canoe trips on the Grand Cascapedia River. No... View More...
Very nice clean, handsome travel brochure for the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia. There is no date stated, but the population, according to the text, stood at 55,000 which dates it to around 1917, the year of the great Halifax explosion which occurred when a Belgian relief ship collided with a French munitions ship and immediately killed three per cent of the city's 55,000 people. The booklet has a nice fold-put map at the back, small photos througbhout in black and white and many ads for steamships, gifts, souvenirs etc. In addition to pointing out the highlights for the traveler, the text offe... This is nifty little leaflet with information about two different hotel apartment rentals a and a nice map of the area. Leaflets tend to get lost or tossed, so having this one is a plus. Closed the booklet measures 3-1/2" x 6-1/4". Opened it's 10-1.4" wide and 9" tall. The Grove Annex boasted big rooms with modern furniture, rooms with running water and semi-private baths and suites with private baths. Prices ranged from $1.50 to $7. The Mansions were a step up from the looks of things. Here you could get a three room apartment (there's a photo) and 100 of the 150 rooms had private baths. They... View More...
This travel guide has it all -- great hotels, restaurants, things to do, things to buy. It measures 7" x 8" and has 25 counted pages with brown printing and sepia photographs. It was tricky to figure out the date, but after several tries I got it -- a photo of Countess Nicol and her son (see photo) did it. The Countess and Count were Little People -- I remembered seeing that picture somewhere else. It was supposed to have been in the 1940's. I think that's about right because the fashions are 30's-40's and there is very nice photo of a tour bus. View More...
This is a rare art catalog which accompanied the artist's first solo exhibition. Natalka Husak is a Ukranian-American artist who has since had other exhibitions. This one is playful and its binding is handmade which adds greatly to its charm. The photos of the works are in sepia and there are 13 images of 13 works. Catalog measures 7-1/2" x 10-1/2". Measures 7-1/2"x10-1/4" and is illustrated throughout with both black and white photographs and drawings. TEXT is in both ENGLISH and FRENCH. This 1955 fishing license was issued to a man from Parma, Ohio off to Canada on an "angling vacation." The license is a small booklet which contains pertinent details about the issuee, as well as Ontario "fishery regulations" and info on the Game and Fisheries Act. It shows browning on both front and back covers, as well as a loss of the top layer of paper at the bottom back corner (small). All fishing coupons are still intact, so Mr. Martin must not have been too lucky. The coupons are very specific, each for a different type of fish and each allowing for 5 or six of most species, but only on... View More...

This poster appears to have never seen the light of day. There are no thumbtack marks, no tears, and no writing-- just crisp white paper. The sports show was an annual big deal, as told by the Cleveland Press in the photo from the previous year which drew in "big crowds." There are several areas for dealers to choose from the spaces showing on the poster, all explained including prices to exhibit. Among the items to be shown were planes, automobiles, boats, camping, fishing and hunting, skates, skis, swimming goods, log cabins and a lot more. There were also spaces for groups, clubs, associa... View More...
