I found these disbound articles in a box of Architectual Review Magazines which I bought at auction. I almost tossed them out until I realized how worthy they are. Each of the 24 focuses on a particular area within a state located anywhere in the country. They all derived from American Preservation magazine, so the color photographs are stunning. Each article is pretty long with many images. I wish I had more room to show them. Areas are these: New Orleans Lower Garden District; Providence, Rhode Island; Salem Massachusetts; Eutaw, Alabama's Greek Revival Architecture; Galveston, Texas; Mizner... View More...

Up in the left corner of the message side is this explanation; "The Lido Beach Hotel is located on one of the finest beaches in America. It offers to permanent and transient guests comfortable accommodations with good cuisine. In close proximity to the hotel is the Lido Beach Pavilion. The hotel overlooks the Gulf of Mexico, a tropical setting of palm trees." Card will arrive in plastic sleeve. View More...
I got all of these from an estate which dated back to WWI. Everything I bought was something that held meaning for the man who owned it. This trip to Florida appears to have been the vacation of a lifetime, as these are the only travel brochures he had. Normally I would list them individually, but decided to keep them intact for old time's sake. Only one brochure is dated, but it's easy to discern that they are all from the 60's due to the clothes and hairstyles and the phone numbers which have word prefixes. All are in color except the turnpike one and the Daytona Beach Shores. The latter has... View More...
Crisp, clean oversized booklet measuring 8-1/2"x11-1/4" with 57 pages. Filled with many vintage historical photographs throughout. It's billed as "a sentimental journey to the Truman Years in Key West." The pictures are great fun, especially if you know the area. Not seen too often. View More...
This is not an auction catalog. The treasures are placed in booths where vendors answer questions, offer information, and in the end seal a deal that make both seller and buyer leave happy. What's interesting of course is the items presented in the catalog as advertising. All are on golssy paper and in full color. The newspaper was from the Palm Beach News highlighting art, jewelry and antiques not only over the counter, but also in seminars. A few titles are these: The Inside Story -- Behind Some of the World's Great Jewels; The Connoisseur's Heart -- the Joy of Living With Antiques and Art;... View More...

Beautiful card using a process the publisher called "Shini Color" which gave it a glossy finish and saturated color. It has not been used, so no postmark to date it. The only clue is the two figure postal code -- the five digit zip code wasn't launched until 1963. Crisp clean card never used postally and with no names or writing. At one time this post office was the only outdoor one in the United States. The only fault is a couple tiny freckles to the outer right margin -- otherwise pristine. Will arrive in a brand new plastic sleeve. View More...

The colors are so vibrant in this crisp clean card which has never been written on or sent in the mail. I know it's from 1951 as it's actually dated. I had a card like this before with a poem called Sand In My Shoes, but this isn't it. This one says, "There is a saying in this land If your shoes contain its sand You will come back once more To its fair and sunny shore!" Well, if that's a truthful "crack" Its a cinch I'll soon be back 'Cause SO MUCH SAND is in MY PAIR I can PLANT POTATOES there! Card will arrive in plastic sleeve. View More...
